This week I said goodbye to a very special friend, Jack.
This post is extra hard, as we lost his companion Jules at the beginning of this year.
I started walking Jack in 2014, he was always a nervous boy, and very wary of new people. In fact, the first few walks I had to encourage him out from underneath the dining room table! But he soon realised that I was someone he could trust.
He was a very gentle soul and loved being with the other dogs, just as long as no strangers tried to say hello to him 😁 He also had a naughty streak, which once involved me running across Hylands Park with group of dogs behind me trying to catch up with him because he decided the walk was finished and headed to the car park! 😂
For the past 12 years, I had the privilege of walking and caring for Jack. Through every season, every adventure, and countless wagging tails, he brought so much joy to my days.
He wasn’t just a dog I walked, he became family. He and Jules will always hold a special place in my heart.
Sending all my love and heartfelt condolences to his wonderful family, Ceri and Steve. To lose Jules and now Jack is utterly heartbreaking, but please know you gave them both such wonderful lives.
Rest easy, beautiful friend. 🌈
