Sniffing is how they explore the world. Every scent tells a story, and giving them the chance to stop and sniff provides incredible mental stimulation. In fact, a good "sniffari" can be just as tiring and fulfilling as a long physical walk.

So next time you're out, slow the pace, let them investigate that interesting patch of grass, and remember – they're not wasting time, they're using their brain.

A mentally enriched dog is often a happier, calmer dog. 💛🐶

With the hot weather expected next week ☀️🐾, I’ll be in touch regarding all scheduled walks.

For many dogs, the temperatures will simply be too high and unsafe for walks, so most visits will likely be changed to pop-in visits instead. This way your pups can still have company, toilet breaks, fresh water, feeding, playtime, and plenty of fuss while staying safe and cool indoors 💛

Your dogs’ safety and wellbeing always come first — thank you for your understanding! 🐶

🌡️ HOT WEATHER WARNING FOR DOG OWNERS 🌡️

With temperatures reaching 31°C over the next 7 days, please think carefully before walking your dogs. Walks should be avoided during the hottest parts of the day.

Dogs can overheat very quickly, and hot pavements can burn their paws in seconds. If you can’t comfortably hold the back of your hand on the pavement for 5 seconds, it’s too hot for them 🐾

☀️ Top tips for keeping your dog safe:
• Walk early morning or later in the evening
• Stick to shaded areas where possible
• Always carry fresh water
• Avoid intense exercise or ball chasing
• Watch for signs of heatstroke such as excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting or collapse

At Walk With Me, your dog’s safety always comes first. Walks may be shortened, moved to cooler times, or replaced with garden visits and enrichment sessions where needed during extreme heat.
