π HEATWAVE ALERT FOR DOG OWNERS! πΎ
With the temperatures soaring, it's crucial to remember that our furry friends are much more susceptible to heatstroke than we are. Their natural cooling system isn't as efficient, and hot pavements can burn their sensitive paws in seconds.
Signs of heatstroke in dogs can include:
* Excessive panting
* Lethargy or weakness
* Drooling
* Bright red gums or tongue
* Vomiting or diarrhoea
* Dizziness or staggering
* In severe cases, collapse or seizures
If you notice any of these signs, move your dog to a cool, shaded area immediately, offer small amounts of cool water, and seek veterinary advice!Don't worry about them missing out on exercise! There are plenty of ways to keep them happy and stimulated indoors.
Struggling to keep your dog cool and happy during the heatwave? I can help!
I'm offering home visits to ensure your dog gets their much-needed toilet breaks and some mental stimulation without risking the heat. I can pop in, let them out into the garden for a sniff and a potty break, refresh their water, and engage in some indoor play or cuddles to break up their day.
Let's keep our pups safe and cool this summer! DM me to discuss how I can help you and your furry family.
