The dragonfly is likely utilizing floating vegetation or pondweed on the surface of a pond to deposit her eggs.

Emperor dragonflies are among the largest species in Europe, commonly found near large ponds, lakes, and canals from June to August.

Female dragonflies often deposit eggs directly into plant tissues or submerged vegetation just below the surface.

ATTENTION, Finned citizens of the pond! The Great Famine is over. After three days of you judging me with those giant, unblinking eyes, the premium pellets have finally been restocked. Please cease the synchronized splashing; the buffet is officially open. Try not to eat it all in four seconds flat this time—your aggressive tail-swishing is frankly terrifying.

Your fish are too.

On a serious note the rise in temperature knocks the levels of oxygen out of the water causing fish to surface and gasp for air.

An easy solution for this would be an aerator which you can get to pump oxygen into the water.
If you need assistance with this then pop in store and we can advise on other methods to get oxygen into your water while the heat is on. 🔥🥵
