AVIAN FLU!

Unfortunately, there has been a confirmed case of avian flu in Newington Kent.

Due to this we need to take precautions at the practice to prevent spread to other birds and staff.
From now on we can only see wild birds that have an obvious injury, you will be asked to bring the bird to the back of the store and we will meet you outside.
Owned birds that live inside, and never go outside, can still come into the practice.
Owned birds that live outside but are in a covered area can be seen inside.
Owned birds that are free roaming of have an uncovered run will need to be seen outside. Again, you will be asked to bring them to the back of the practice and we will meet you there.
If unsure contact the practic before bringing your bird in.
If you would like advice on how to care for your birds during this time please search on the government website under avian flu.

We have had a young, female, black, domestic medium hair cat brought into us this morning. She has no collar or microchip.

The cat was found on King street, Rochester.

It is possible the cat might have a litter of kittens somewhere so we need to find an owner as soon as possible.

Please contact the practice on 01634 560660 if you think she might be your cat.

Sadly, we have had a deceased young male neutered cat brought into us this morning after being hit by a car. The cat is a domestic short hair with the colouring of a grey point. He was wearing a blue collar with white paw prints on. He is microchipped but we are struggling to get through to the chip company today. If anyone feels this might be their cat please call the practice on 01634 560660. We are here until 3:30pm today and then back at 8am tomorrow.

We sadly had a cat brought in yesterday after they had been in an RTA. Unfortunately, they did not survive.
If anyone is missing a male entire, tabby cat (with white paws), about 2-6years old, he has no microchip or collar please get in contact with us on 01634 560660.
The cat was found in Rochester on Maidstone Road by the John Watts building.

We have gremlins! Our computer systems are still having issues, we have some access to diaries, notes and contact details today but it is minimal. We are still open as usual for all unwell patients and routine appointments, but if you have a query or request that might wait a day or two, could we ask that you delay until we're up to full speed.

UPDATE - We have a slow computer system up and running. Please keep this in mind when you call

Unfortunately we currently have no computers. We are working hard to get this up and running. We are still open but have no ability to access clinic notes or dispense medications etc so please only contact us if it is urgent. Hopefully normal operation will resume soon!
