Boutique Dog Retreat Dog day care and boarding for the ultimate home-from-home experience. Highest standards of comfort, care and cleanliness for dogs that deserve the best.

☆ Please note that Boutique Dog Retreat is now permanently closed. The page remains to allow all our old visitors to view the memories of their fur babies ☆

Thank you for visiting the Boutique Dog Retreat. We are currently preparing to open our doors to VIDs (Very Important Doggies) who need company while their owners are at work, out for the day or having a little break. We specialise in caring

for small and medium sized four legged friends who love the care and attention of humans and the social life provided by other dogs. First bookings are available from Thursday 19th May 2016. Although our page is still under development, we are very happy to take enquiries and advance provisional bookings. Before we open, we will be Medway Council licenced (as all dog boarding facilities in Medway must be) and fully insured. Pre-meets for all potential visitors and trial sleep overs for stays of more than one night will ensure both dog and owner can completely relax in the knowledge that everyone is happy. This is for the comfort and safety of all our residents. Your dog will be welcomed to share our home with my husband George, our two dogs Flossie and Wilma, and me. We will try wherever possible to maintain the routines you have at home to minimise any disruption. We are a child free, smoke free home. I will tend to most of your dogs needs through the days but on evenings and weekends, George will be around to enjoy the company of your dog too. We also have a big, extended, dog loving family with whom we spend a lot of our spare time and they are really looking forward to making new four legged friends and helping out when they can. So your pet will never be short of considerate love and attention - if that's what they like. You will see from our photo gallery that the dogs in our lives are nothing short of adored! Having always wanted a dog we finally felt we'd created the right circumstances in 2013 when we got our little lady Flossie. Then in 2014 we thought she needed some company so we brought home our little oaf Wilma! We haven't spent one night away from our girls since, because nowhere gave us the feeling of ease we needed. As a result, we conceived the idea of the Boutique Dog Retreat. This is a haven for dogs, whose owners require a truly premium home-from-home experience for their best friend. The quality of our accommodation and our love and affection for dogs are what set us apart. We know what it's like when a kennel isn't even a consideration and the other options available just won't quite do. We believe we can provide the environment that the most diligent dog owners demand and the care that your dog deserves. Play days run from 8.30am until 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. Prices start at £20 for day care and sleep overs are £30 a night. Weekend play days, unsociable hours and collection/drop-offs are all available but supplements may apply. Discounts may be available for long term bookings or multiple dogs. Please message or call if you have any question or comments. If there's something that's important to you and we haven't mentioned it, please just ask. Your feedback helps us improve our service. Many thanks, Helen

Five years ago today we opened our doors at Boutique Dog Retreat. We still miss all our little friends and think and talk about them often. There's many a day I could do with a cuddle from THE BEST dog cuddler known to man, the beauty that is Buster. Or look into the fantastic eyes of Charlie or be entertained by the mad-as-a-box-of-frogs Milo. And then there were the welcomes from Wicket 😍 And so much more. We really do hope you and your gorgeous furry family members are well and if you feel inclined to send us an update or a pic, we're waiting 🤩

To all our old Boutique Dog Retreat family, we think of you so often and your beautiful fur babies. Their photos pop up on our memories daily and we miss those four legged cuddles and unique personalities.

Flossie and Wilma are still loving life and as you can see from their latest portrait they have gotten a little bit above their station of late! 😃

We hope you and yours are all keeping well in these strange old times and that 2021 brings you only the best.

👋 Good morning old Boutique Dog Retreat friends! 👋

We really hope you and yours are well in these very strange times. We're at that time of year where every day, my online memories are filled with pics of your beautiful babies. Buddy, Wicket, Buster, Frankie, Ruby, Opal, Bella, Charlie, Milo ... the list goes on. We miss them all and talk about them so often but sadly know it was the right decision to move on. Our furry girls really do love having us to themselves, my business has gone from strength to strength and we are no longer terrified we'll have to leavethe house for more than 3 hours! There have also been some issues along the way in our lives which would have made fulfilling our commitments to you all very hard, so we're glad we never had to let anyone down.

When we closed BDR, I threw myself 100% into my training business and now specialise in wellbeing. The post below is from my business page for WellbeingTraining Solutions so if Wellbeingis of interest to you personallyor professionally, please do connect either on Facebookor LinkedIn. It would be great to hear from you. A couple of days ago, I was lucky enough to have a chapter published in a book collaboration. It's a million miles from looking after our 4 legged friends every day but it brings the same sort of joy oddly enough but just without having the lovely visitors, 2 and 4 legged, to our home.

I wont be posting here again on the BDR page any day soon (but I will leave the page live for the lovely memories), but with the times we're in, the memories I keep being jogged by and the latest development on what I've been doing since we closed our doors, I really just wanted to say hello, wish you all well and ask you to give your pooch a big fat squeeze from us! Much love everyone, and please do send us a pic of your babies with a little update if you have a mo 🤗. Thank you 🙏 Helen.

Although Boutique Dog Retreat is no longer operating, and our web page www.boutiquedogretreat.co.uk is closing any day now, we are leaving this page open so all of our wonderful past customers can still access the pictures of their beautiful pooches. Enjoy! 😍

Although Boutique Dog Retreat is now closed, we are still in touch with some other terrific dog boarders. Proposals are looming which mean many of these businesses will likely have to close and dog boarding spaces will be very limited and/or very expensive. If you value dog boarding services, please be aware and sign the petition to help stop this madness which will likely result in unscrupulous individuals going underground with unlicensed dog boarding services, leaving legitimate, well regulated businesses (at least in Medway) unable to compete and many owners with kennels as their only real option.

New regulations for licensed activities involving animals are coming into force on October 1st. Two activities covered are day care for dogs and home boarding for dogs. The new law is contradictory and unclear in many aspects and will force a large number of home businesses to have to close.

For any of our old customers who are local, we'd be very grateful if you'd be prepared to share ... Our little (9kg) dog was attacked by what we believe to be a Rhodesian Ridgeback bitch today. A very trusted friend was walking both our dogs on-lead at Chatham football grounds park (Maidstone Road) when the other dog approached with its male owner and a Jack Russell. Both of those dogs were off-lead. The owner called out that they were friendly but the Ridgeback then attacked. The other dogs owner wanted to talk to my friend about the incident but completely understandably, she was fearful of a further attack and needed to get the dog checked over urgently. I hope the owner responsible sees this and I'm inviting them to contact me to discuss, or if anyone knows who it might be, please let me know by private message. This could have been much more serious and cannot be allowed to happen again. Thank you.

Having promised an update on our future at the start of 2018, we have finally come to a decision about Boutique Dog Retreat. After lots of reflection, we've decided we will be permanently closing our doors to 4 legged friends. Our own little dogs have really flourished since they've had some time and space to relax without any canine visitors and we would love them to continue to have that luxury. We've also been reminded what it's like to have more than three consecutive hours out of the house and we quite like it! 😃

So, I will now continue to focus on and grow my other business and passion, Boutique Training Solutions, which has fortunately gone from strength to strength. And as we mive in, we will always cherish the memories we have of all our adorable guests who truly brought so much pleasure and fun to our home.

We would like to say an enormous thank you to everyone who entrusted their amazing doggies to us. We have spent far too long 'pawing' 🐾🙊 over our old photos and videos of our visitors and this has reminded us how special our visiting pooches and their families are. We really hope we'll get to meet many of them for cuddles again. For putting your trust in us and helping us build a business we are so very proud of, thank you. Sincerely, Helen, George, Flossie and Wilma. 😚
