🥵 TIPS TO KEEP YOUR DOG COOL 🥵

- walk early morning and late evenings, under 24°c

- keep them in the shade as much as possible

- always have fresh cool water available

- NO cars

- invest in cooling products e.g. mats, bandanas etc

- frozen Kong treats

- water play like pools and sprinklers

- air-conditioning and fans

- keep curtains closed and windows open slightly

- pet safe sunblock if needed

- regular grooming will help avoid dense coats that get too hot

- putting cold water on your dogs belly and armpits can help cool them down

- DO NOT place cold towels over your dog, this can trap heat in

- DO NOT give your dog ice cubes, it can cool them too fast

- Brachy breeds (flat nosed), older dogs and heavy coated dogs struggle a lot more in the heat so take extra care

- DO NOT exercise your dog vigorously, light exercise is all they need

☀️ Heat Warning for Dog Walks ☀️

Tuesday to Friday are currently forecast to be above 24°C, which is simply too hot and unsafe for dogs to be walked comfortably.

We will be monitoring temperatures closely throughout the week, and the moment temperatures reach 24°C, all walks will be stopped immediately.

During these times, we will only be offering pop-in services for pets who are home alone.

If you think you may need a pop-in service on any of these days, please let us know ASAP so we can plan accordingly.
