I don't normally post things like this, but I thought I'd try to educate some who may not know (most people on here either have horses or will know this), but for anyone who may not: This is what you cannot see as a driver on the road. All it takes is a sudden brake, and the foal is at risk of being stepped on by its mother, as she may not have any option. It is quite common for young foals to lie down on long journeys; some even lie underneath. This is why it is important to be patient with livestock vehicles. If possible, try not to cut in front of them, pull out slowly, or brake suddenly. Sometimes there is a greater distance than normal to the vehicle in front; this is not an invitation to pull in; it is simply to allow smoother braking. Everyone has places to be, but we appreciate your patience 🙏
