Saw the lovely Roxy at the weekend. It was really nice to catch up with her. She has progressed so much over the past few weeks. She has commenced on some medication to help with her anxiety.
She was so much more relaxed when we did some work around where she lives.
I can safely say we are now friends. She came and laid next to me and settled.
We are slowly building her confidence around noises, people and dogs.

Did something a bit different this week. Had a double one to one with two gorgeous pups 🐶
Benny and Poppy did amazing learning focus, drop, settle and some calm handling.

Met the super cute Pepper at the weekend. She is fearful of dogs on walks and barks and lunges on the lead when she sees them. We will be working on building her confidence and making being around dogs a positive experience.

Last session with the lovely Forrest at Pontefract Park. We have been working on his engagement around dogs and helping him to remain calm when dogs are near him. We also worked on recall and long line work.
He's made so much progress over the past few weeks.

Met the very sweet Missy last week who has rather suddenly started displaying aggressive behaviour towards her canine housemate.
They have lived together happily for 6 years so the first thing we need to implement is environmental management to keep them both safe at home. So we are separating them with baby gates.
And importantly she is going to be assessed at the vets to rule out any medical causes to her sudden change in behaviour.
With any dog that you see a sudden change in character and behaviour it is vital to ensure that nothing else is going on for them before starting any behaviour training programs.
A sudden change in a dog's behaviour can stem from various factors, including physical pain, stress, anxiety, underlying medical conditions, or changes in their environment or routine.
As a behaviourist it's important to ensure all possibilities are explored.

Lots of fun in puppy class the past couple of weeks. Learning drop, settle, hand touch and loose lead walking amongst other things.

Lovely Benji who I am working with as he has some resource guarding issues and also some anxieties around traveling in the car. He's made a lot of progress in regards to the guarding of food already and we have started making positive associations with the car.

At this lunchtime with the adorable Pablo. Doing some more work increasing his confidence around dogs and we also worked on recall around distractions. He was an absolute superstar 🌟

Lots of fun in puppy class last week. We played 'its your choice' and worked on calm greetings and stay.

Been to see this gorgeous girl this evening. She is struggling with frustration around other dogs. She desperately wants to get to them to play but this results in lots of barking and pulling. We will be helping her to cope with her emotions and help her to remain calm around dogs.
