It was a pleasure to judge so many wonderful teams at the Detection Trial yesterday. This is a wonderful new competition being launched by Positive Connections and yesterdays proved to be a great success. This style of competition is promoting good training and dog handler relationships within Detection. Lots of feedback is given to each competitor to aid there future training. Do keep an eye out on there page for any more coming up.. 😎

Super Detection Trial today. Two very different environments to search plus a vehicle, which really gave a good range of skills to be judged. Huge thank you to Jenny Richards at Deliverance Dogs for judging one of the areas and for the use of her venue for one of the search areas.
Results were a total of all 3 searches added together then turned into a %age score. Congratulations to all competitors and to the following who bagged themselves a ribbon 🏵️
1st Andrea and Tilly with 98.25%
2nd Stacey and Robin with 94.38%
3rd Caroline and Charlie with 94.25%
4th Kylie and Scully with 90.75%

So proud of Karolina and Odessa today. The first time I worked with this team Odessa spent more time reacting and feeling unsure than engaging with handler and work. That has changed dramatically thanks to Karolina’s hard work. Now they are actually starting to create Heelwork together. Absolutely super job 💪❤️🔥

A super lovely birthday weekend with good company, lots of dogs, some horses, dog walks, dog training, laughing at dogs, a jug of Pimm’s and a bottle of Champagne 🥂

What I love most about this is the focus. This isn’t about sacrificing your training for the sake of competition. It’s about carrying good training into the trial environment. Promoting the relationship, clarity, and confidence of the dog at the centre of everything.

There are also more accessible entry levels, making it a brilliant opportunity for those newer to Detection to step into competition in a way that feels achievable and positive without compromising training.
