Today is real mix of feelings to say the least! That's it, my final day based Millies Pet Services has come to an end. I first began back in early 2022, just lending a hand on Friday's whilst also running my own business elsewhere, moving Dalhousie Dogs into Millies fully later that same year. It is a decision I am glad I made. I have really enjoyed my time here and can't thank Vicky enough for the opportunity to do so, and support along the way! I will really miss some of the High Street buzz and will particularly miss seeing my kids occasionally waving in at the window 🥹 but as one chapter ends, another begins...

Dalhousie Dogs finally has the official green light for business use at 8 Dalhousie Street, Carnoustie. So its all systems go with the fitting out of our new salon! 🥳

Thank you to all my customers for your patience during this period of change. I have so many of you still to speak to, but will aim to be back on top of this by the beginning of next week. I can't wait for you to see the new setting and most importantly to see your four legged buddies reactions! 🤩

Feeling a bit nostalgic on what is our final day based on Carnoustie High Street today 🥲 so here's a throw back to October 2022 when Dalhousie Dogs - Dog Grooming Services was officially announced as relocating to Millie's Pet Services 🥰 ... More announcements to follow about our new location later today! 😁

As some of you are aware, Craig from Dalhousie Dogs has been working with us on Fridays for a large part of this year. Initially helping us cover some long-term sickness and then our current demand for our grooming services.

As a City and Guilds qualified groomer, we love Craig's calm and value-based approach to grooming. He shares both our values and ethos when it comes to dog grooming. Plus, he has a keen interest in continual personal development having also joined us during our recent in-house training by Lisa Hart, a multi award winning Asian Fusion dog groomer. And well..... it that wasn't enough, have you met Toby his gorgeous springer?

So, I'm thrilled to say that along with Craig continuing to work for Millie's on a Friday, Dalhousie Dogs will now be working from Millie's Pet Services from this week.

Many of you will be aware I have been helping out on Friday's at Millie's Pet Services for some time now.

Well, I am excited to announce the opportunity has arisen to use their fantastic facilities for my own customers now too. I believe this high quality environment provides the ability for not only further business growth & personal development, but also ensures that I can provide the very best possible service to my customers. I am really looking forward to welcoming customers to our new home!

🐶 What does this mean to exisiting bookings with Millie's? 🐶
There's no change to our existing bookings or set up.

Craig, under Dalhousie Dogs, will be working between Mon to Wed so I will continue to have 1:1 days available for our furiends who prefer quiet space and/or reactive to other dogs.

However, please note that our weekends are incredibly limited so please continue to book these appts in advance - particularly given Christmas!

I have just a handful of weekend slots available before Santa arrives (though do have some midweek availability during Nov and December). Do just hit reply if you require an appt pre-Christmas, and we'll get you booked in!

🐾 Many people will be reading the sad news that Millie's Pet Services will be closing as of Saturday 10th May :( As a result this does mean my last day working from these premises will be Friday 9th May BUT I would like to assure all customers that it is not my intention for this to be a goodbye from Dalhousie Dogs! Plans are currently well underway to relocate.

Given the short timescale this will still involve delay for some appointments (but not all). I am doing my best to work my way through contacting all customers direct, in between a very full diary and home life with two excited kids about to break up for Easter Holidays 😅 Please bear with me or reach out via this page or call/ msg me on 07792396074 if you have any concerns and have not yet heard from me.

I would like to take this opportunity to also thank Vicky at Millies for all her support during our time together. It's been a privilege to assist some of her customers whilst my own business was growing and I am very grateful for the referrals and business tips offered along the way. 5 month old Penny was oozing confidence and pride after completing her Puppy Preschool- Intro to Grooming sessions!

It's a daunting, new experience for so many pups so this gradual introduction to the setting, sounds and process of a full groom is a great way to build trust & confidence for the years ahead 💖🐾

I've been trying to do this post for a while but it's been a struggle. A few weeks ago we lost our special boy Toby. Really missing his wagging tail and grumbles when you come home but we all had the best of times together🥹 I really appreciate all the support I've had from my lovely customers at this tough time and all the cuddles from your dogs 🤗

Never a topic I want to raise but over the past week I've had several no shows/ last minute cancellations. Whilst I do appreciate this can sometimes be due to unexpected circumstances, there have been quite a few who have simply forgot...With this happening at the time expected for the appointment, there is very little chance of filling this gap before the next one scheduled. Time is then spent calling/ messaging customers to reshuffle the day where I can...

Being self employed is challenging at the best of times but this week its been not only deflating but a significant loss of income- Over £200 lost in just 3 days!
