What an enjoyable weekend it's been.
4 nursery trials for Slate along with some work on Saturday evening to help him gain more experience.

Sat AM- Trawden
Sat PM- North Westmorland
Sun AM- Northern 🥇
Sun PM- Windermere

Every trial gave us a learning perspective and showed us what to work on next.

Over the mood with Slates run at Northern this morning, running fourth out of twenty nine dogs and we managed to hold onto first place. 🥇 He really couldn't have done anymore, handler error on the second drive gate meant we came just in the inside. Certainly the most controlled and settled he's run. He's very quickly learning what this trialing thing is all about.

Jess has been wonderful all weekend as normal and of course she wanted to pose for the photos 💕

Thank you to everyone from all the society's that make these trials possible and also to all those that sat in the judges seat.

Thank you to Katy Cropper who gave me a pep talk Saturday morning before I ran it was some much needed confidence on my part.

At just 14 months old Slate has got his first nursery placing. (6th place)

Today we attended Northern sheepdog association nursery trial at Westwick. Slate is quickly learning to settle when at the post and be more focused. He thought he knew best at the top and decided he was just going to bring them to me and not worry about me asking for flanks to try and get the fetch gates. 🙄
After that he decided to work with me more and we got a nice completed course getting both drive gates and the pen.

I'm so proud of this young dog. I've done everything with him since I got him at 8 weeks old. Still a long way to go but he's starting off the nursery season strong.

Thanks to all those involved in holding the trial. Congratulations to Katy Cropper for winning the nursery. 👏🏻
