🌳 Update on Local Planning Application: Proposed Dog Exercise Area 🐾

Burton-in-Kendal Parish Council recently discussed the planning application for a secure dog exercise and training area on a field west of the Curwen Woods Estate (off the A6070).

The proposal has generated active community discussion, highlighting a variety of perspectives:

🔹 Community Considerations: Some residents and councillors raised concerns regarding potential increases in local traffic volume, noise levels, and the possibility of future site expansion.
🔹 Community Benefits: Supporters emphasized the value of having a new, accessible local facility that benefits area dog owners and the village as a whole.

Following a public consultation that drew 48 comments in favour alongside opposing feedback, the Burton-in-Kendal Parish Council voted unanimously to recommend approval to Westmorland and Furness Council. This recommendation includes strict conditions to limit traffic movement and prohibit special events on the site.

The final decision now rests with the Westmorland and Furness planning authority.

⭐️ We will be CLOSED for boarding & Daycare from 13th - 30th November.
I don’t think the fence will last another winter 🤣🙈.. so I’ve made the decision to close for the build of a shiny new wall and other maintenance.

⭐️ We are fully booked for Boarding until mid September. We have a few mid week dates available. Please still ask and we can save your dates on the reserve list incase of cancellations.

⭐️ The scaffolding should be taken away soon. 🤞. Please continue to park safely and be conscious not to block the lane.
There is another lane you can use to enter and exit Farleton.
