You’ve probably been stuck in the horse traffic at some point while dropping off or collecting your pooches! 🐴🐶

And if you’re wondering why you haven’t seen much of Mark lately when dropping off or collecting… he’s probably on b**b duty 🍼😂 or catching a very quick five-minute snooze while we take it in turns! 😴

🌡️🐾 Heat Stroke in Dogs – Know the Signs 🐾🌡️

With the warmer weather here, it's important to keep an eye on our four-legged friends.

⚠️ Signs of heat stroke can include:
• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Lethargy or weakness
• Bright red gums or tongue
• Vomiting or diarrhoea
• Confusion or wobbliness
• Collapse

If you suspect heat stroke:
✅ Move your dog to a cool, shaded area
✅ Offer small amounts of cool water
✅ Use cool (not ice-cold) water on their body
✅ Contact your vet immediately

🚫 Never leave dogs in cars
🚫 Avoid walking during the hottest part of the day
🚫 Make sure fresh water and shade are always available

Remember: if it's too hot for you, it's probably too hot for your dog too.

☀️🌡️ With temperatures set to rise this week, please remember that dogs and hot cars do not mix. 🌡️☀️

Even on what feels like a mild day, the temperature inside a vehicle can rise dangerously quickly, putting your dog at serious risk.

If you're planning a day out, a BBQ with friends, shopping, or a trip somewhere dogs can't comfortably join you, why not let us look after them instead? 🐾💛

At Gelligaeros Boarding Kennels, our purpose-built kennels are designed to keep dogs safe, comfortable and cool during the warmer weather, with plenty of fresh water, shade and care from our experienced team.
