🚧 ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE 🚧

From Monday 27th July until Friday 14th August (approximately), road resurfacing works will affect roads near Off the Leash Carlisle.

The Great Orton crossroads (C1021/C2051) will be closed, meaning your usual route to the field may not be available.

🐾 The field will remain OPEN as normal.

If you're visiting us during this period, please follow the official diversion route and approach the dog field from the west side, allowing a little extra time for your journey.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the roadworks and appreciate your patience while the improvements are carried out.

⛔️🚧 C2051 ORTON ROAD & C1021 – GREAT ORTON / BALDWINHOLME 🚧⛔️

🗓️ 27/07/26 – 14/08/26

Sections of the and will be closed whilst carriageway resurfacing works are carried out.

This is anticipated to take up to 19 days.

📍 Location of works:

* C2051 Orton Road – from a point approximately 370 metres east of its junction with the U1130, extending in an overall easterly direction for approximately 310 metres.
* C1021 (between Great Orton and Baldwinholme) – from a point approximately 620 metres north west of its junction with the U1131 (Baldwinholme), extending in a north westerly direction over the crossroads with the C2051 for a total distance of approximately 390 metres.

⚠️ Alternative Route:

For the C2051 closure:
Via the unrestricted sections of the C2051, A689, Moorhouse Roundabout, B5307, Moorhouse, Thurstonfield and C1021 (Great Orton).

For the C1021 closure:
Via the unrestricted sections of the C1021, A595, Newby West Roundabout, A689, Moorhouse Roundabout, B5307, Moorhouse, Thurstonfield and C1021 (Great Orton).

🚲 A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will BE MAINTAINED at all times.

🚨 Emergency Services:
Access for emergency vehicles will BE MAINTAINED where required for the duration of this restriction.

🎉🐾 ONE YEAR OF OFF THE LEASH CARLISLE! 🐾🎉

We can’t believe it’s been a whole year since we opened our gates! 💚

A huge thank you to every single one of our amazing customers and, of course, all of your wonderful dogs for supporting us over the last 12 months. Watching so many dogs enjoy the field has been the best part of this journey. 🐶

We’ve had everything from muddy paws and rainy days 🌧️ to sunshine and blue skies ☀️, and throughout it all we’ve been working hard to improve the field. From new agility equipment to better paths and all the other changes we’ve made, we hope you’ve enjoyed seeing the field evolve.

Thank you for your support, your kind words, your photos, and for being part of our first year. We couldn’t have done it without you.

🎉 One Whole Year! 🎉

I can't believe Off the Leash Carlisle Secure Dog Field has been open for a whole year! 🐾

A huge thank you to all of our wonderful humans and their amazing dogs for supporting us over the past 12 months. It really does mean the world to us. ❤️

We've experienced it all this year – from some incredibly wet and muddy days 🌧️🐾 to some very hot summer days ☀️.

Throughout it all, we've worked hard to make improvements to the field, from adding new features to improving the ground conditions, so it's a great place for you and your dogs to enjoy whatever the weather.

We hope you've noticed and enjoyed the changes we've made, and we're always looking for ways to make your visits even better.

A lovely customer has dropped her car keys (picture of fob shown) in the dog field. If anyone comes across them can you let us know asap.

☀️🐾 Hot weather incoming! 🐾☀️

With a warm week ahead, we’ll be taking fresh drinking water up to the field daily to help keep your pups cool and hydrated 💧🐕

Please feel free to use the water tank and hosepipe to cool off and wash down your dogs after their run around 🌿💦

Stay safe in the heat and remember to bring plenty of water for yourselves too! 💛
