I am heartbroken! Iv cared for Lizzie for 3 years.. and her brother Sherlock. She was such a gentle and loving cat who greeted me at the door and would wait patiently for me to put her Tuna down...
I was caring for her last week where she appeared to be absolutely fine, eating, drinking, walking around, affectionate and using the toilet no problems.. Her parents had messaged to say that they were coming home a day early and my last visit was going to Saturday afternoon... I attended as usual and there she was all happy listening to the radio, eating her dreamies.... I walked out and went home as normal. I hadn't heard from my client so I dropped her a quick msg to ask if she got home ok to be told that shortly after they arrived home Lizzie had to be PTS due to a heart attack.. Completely out of the blue, very suddenly... π
This has got me thinking.. what if my client hadn't cancelled her last day? What if it had happened an hour earlier and she walked in to find her beautiful girl gone?
I love all your beautiful cats as my own and if I see any issues or concerns like not eating, over grooming, lathergy, weakness, infection etc... I will phone you and I will take them to the vet... No ifs, no buts and certainly dont worry about paying for an extra visit or a call out fee like other sitters charge. You have trusted me with your pets and I will care for them like my own... EVERY SINGLE TIME... Im heartbroken.. Medical emergencies can happen at any time and its important when booking a cat sitter that they have procedures in place for these events to ensure care isnt compromised.
Sleep tight Lizzie ππ
