For anyone who takes their dogs to the lakes or are planning on it

‼️ URGENT NEWS ‼️

Over the weekend we have had a case that we strongly suspect to have been Canine Parvovirus in a dog in the Ambleside area.

Canine parvovirus is highly contagious in dogs. It classically produces signs of lethargy, vomiting and bloody diarrhoea. About 9 out of 10 dogs will die if they contract parvovirus.

The virus can potentially remain active in the ground for several years.

Routine dog vaccinations are highly effective at preventing the disease.

If your dog is up to date with its vaccines you do not need to take further action.

If your dog has not had a vaccine within the last year we strongly recommend that you have them vaccinated in the very near future. If they have not been vaccinated within the last year they may require a vaccination restart which consists of 2 vaccines, 4 weeks apart. We currently have a vaccine amnesty program running where you pay for just the one vaccine. This offer ends at the end of August.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!

Dogs won’t die from missing a few days of exercise but they will die from heat stroke 🥵

Can I ask anyone with an appointment this week who isn’t able to guarantee their dog travels in an air conditioned car or has health issues to please message me and we can reschedule.

Honestly it’s only hair.. it’s not worth the risk to a lot of my older dogs. Anxious dogs or dogs with underlying health issues.

I know that you wonderful people always put your kids first but please educate others 😘

P**f 💨 and just like that.. we’re back!!

I want to thank each of you for your lovely messages and I know I say this all the time ( I bore myself so I don’t know how you all cope 😂) but the community we have around us and in this page is unbelievable!

You always blow me away by your love and support.

We are back at work tomorrow and I’ve answered my messages (if you’re waiting please text me again as I might of lost you!)

I’ve been meaning to say it’s probably a good idea for my regular customers who don’t already book appointments in advance to start pre booking.. preferably for the rest of the year as it’s getting really full already… and you know I start panicking if I can’t get you in 😂

You might want to sit down for this…. But myself and Kenny are going away for a week!! I know very strange behaviour for us but well needed.

We will be closed from today (Friday 17th) to Friday 24th. If you need to get in touch with me I’ll have my diary and answering messages and calls for the next hour.. after that I’ll answer messages on Thursday.
