Yesterday was awful. This little man, Bruiser, had a seizure while on his walk with Vince. He's fine now, and thankfully has a generally good bill of health from the vets.
This post is in appreciation of my staff. I was off yesterday, trapped by a sleeping baby. I could do nothing to help. So Vince handled it. Perfectly. Jo kept me updated so Vince didn't have to put up with me pestering him for minute by minute updates. Vince was able to focus on Bruiser and his owner instead of me.
I'm immensely lucky to have them both as part of the Waggy Walks team, and I hope it continues for a very long time. Yesterday was a perfect example of how valuable they are, and I'm grateful for the immensely professional way they dealt with what was a deeply distressing situation.
Doing this job is hard, anyone who says otherwise is probably fibbing. But it's normally hard in a very fun, rewarding way. That wasn't it yesterday. Today, the reward is the news that Bruiser is doing well and will be returning to walks very soon.
So, I hope anyone who sees this can join me in offering their praise to Vince in particular for his handling of the immediate situation, but also Jo for her handling of the wider picture. Thank you both for everything you have done and continue to do and
