Welcome to Ty Wyth Newydd Livery and Rehabilitation Yard. We offer various livery packages including schooling; breaking; sales; competition; rehabilitation; training; as well as in-house competitions and training. We aim to provide a relaxed and calm environment in which you and your horse can relax.

CURRENT VACANCIES

We currently have space for a gelding on Full livery with group turnout .

What we can offer:
💠 small quiet, friendly and supportive yard
💠 turnout all year, no matter what the weather
💠 gelding only field
💠 small herd turnout either 3 in 4 acres or about 7 in 15 acres
💠 in for about 4 to 5 hours during the day for a snooze 😴😴
💠 12 x 12 rubber matted stable with a view
💠 large outdoor school (60 x 30m) with mirrors and a selection of jumps
💠 lovely hacking in Hensol Forestry various bridleways and Cowbridge Common
💠 good road links to Jct34 M4 and A48
💠 grass paddock to play in
💠 various therapies or rehabilitation offered on site- access to Salt Therapy, certified Equine Hanna Somatics practitioner, and an Equine Behavioural Consultant.

Our livery package includes hay, bedding (upto 2 bags of straw pellets), rug changes (if needed), use of the facilities etc.

This post is really to just address any misinformation that may be currently floating around.

Yes our property was up for sale
Yes our property has sold

But we are lucky enough to be renting part of it back for the foreseeable.
What we now offer has slightly changed and we are now operating on a much smaller scale.

We are offering Full livery and Assisted DIY (with add on services if needed)) for geldings only at the moment. There will be a maximum of 10 horses.

We currently have space for 2 geldings on Full livery to share a field with one older semi retired gelding.

We will also have 2 spaces for Assisted DIY coming up soon.

CURRENT VACANCIES

We are pleased to say that we are now here for the foreseeable and so can now offer long term livery again 🥳

The yard will be run on a much smaller scale, operating from the courtyard stables.

We can offer a quiet, friendly and supportive yard with use of a large outdoor school with a variety of jumps; a field to play in when dry; fab hacking on the doorstep in Hensol Forestry, various bridleways and Cowbridge Common.

We have limited availability with a couple of spaces for Full livery and potentially Assisted DIY. These spaces are for:

✅ Geldings only
✅ Herd Turnout only

❌ Sorry but no under 16s
❌ No dogs

SHORT TERM LIVERY VACANCIES

We are pleased to announce that our property has sold (stc) and we are looking to offer short term livery over the summer months.

Who would this suit?
✅ those who are on a wait list for a yard but wish to move off their current one
✅ students looking for livery for the summer break
✅ horses coming back off loan with no yard to go to
✅ horses used in college needing somewhere for the summer once term time ends
✅ anyone looking for livery over the summer
✅ going on holiday or help with rehabilitation

What can we offer?
❇ Full or Assisted DIY livery

Some of you may have heard by now, but we are unfortunately having to sell up. It is a decision that has been forced upon us and one we wish we didn't have to do.
We have a few liveries looking for a space from the end of April/ beginning of May. Looking for Full or Assisted livery in the surrounding areas and also out towards Usk way.
If anyone knows of any spaces coming up, please comment or message. I will do a proper post shortly.

Richard and I would like to thank everyone for their support in this difficult time and we wish everyone, past and present all the best.

I will be doing a post regarding the sale of the property shortly for those who maybe interested or know of someone who might be.

TRACK/ EQUICENTRAL VACANCY

We have a space for a semi- retired (light hacking) or retired gelding on our track system, that requires restricted access to grazing but can have grass. The way our track works will not be suitable for EMS types.

What we can offer:-
• 24/7 turnout
• use of a stable
• use of the facilities

Horses need to be barefoot due to low lying nets around the track. They need to be easy going and not food aggressive.

Currently, the horses are on the track by day and in the middles by night.

REHABILITATION LIVERY

❓ Are you looking for help in rehabbing your beloved?
❓ Are you feeling lost on your rehabilitation journey?
❓ Been rehabbing for a while and need a break to restore your energy levels?

💚 We offer long or short term rehabilitation livery. We are lucky enough to have a variety of facilities that aid the rehab process as well as having access to some lovely gentle slopes to help strengthen your horse naturally.

💚 We have good working relationships with the local vet practices, physiotherapists, farriers, saddlers etc.

💚 We can offer a quiet, peaceful environment for your horse to fully recover.

💚 We have had experience with Kissing Spines, stifles, hocks, suspensories and other soft tissue injuries, fractures, colic recovery, SI issues, COPD and other respiratory problems, etc

The before and after pictures are of my TB mare who had Kissing Spines, hock arthritis, and SI issues. These were all treated and our rehab journey was filled with blood, sweat and tears- we had to basically teach her how to walk again. The end result took around 8 months of just groundwork and miles and miles and miles 😉 of walking up and down the hills around us. Due to her being in pain for a long while, we also had a few behavioural issues to deal with too. Luckily, I'm qualified Equine Behavioural Consultant and we worked through all her learned behaviour.

TRACK LIVERY

We currently have a couple of spaces for small (no bigger than 14hh) geldings that are preferably retired (could accommodate working but would be a slightly different package) on our track/ equicentral system.

As we are an evolving livery yard, we set up a track system a few years back. It proved to be a success. However, with it being unsurfaced, our lovely wet summers and winters have taken its toll and it is more of a dirt/ mud track- which has been great for the occupants's waistlines 😉

Usually we save the inner fields to strip graze through winter; but this summer we are planning on grazing the inners on a rotational basis- taking the horses off before they graze the field down, in order for the grass to recover quickly and thicken.

Therefore, our track system will suit those needing their horses out as much as possible (due to medical conditions like arthritis, breathing issues etc) but still being able to restrict their grass intake without affecting their freedom to move.
