🐾 Introducing Luna, Cosmo, Misty and Marlowe and welcoming back Bella and Peach 🐾

Hope you’ve all had a lovely week. We welcomed 4 new cats this week. First we had 1 year old siblings Luna and Cosmo. Luna is very nervous but just on the second visit she was very comfortable with my company and happy to sit in the same room as me. Misty, aged approx 12, is also very nervous and unfortunately I didn’t manage to befriend her this time as we only had 2 days together. We also welcomed 10 year old Marlowe today who is with us for the next few days. Marlowe can also be a bit nervous but let me stroke him today on day 1. Bella and Peach have been with us for a few days and will be back with us for a few days a week over the next few weeks. Towards the end of the week we will welcome back the crazy Ragdolls Wolfie and Whiskas who we looked after in October along with the lovely Joey who we looked after over Christmas 😻

Please note bank holidays (Good Friday and Easter Monday) will be charged at an additional £8 per visit and will be limited to once daily visits AM only except where cats are needing medications 😻

🐾 Introducing Betty, Vincent, Bella, Peach and Loki and welcoming back Roxy, Rex, Sooty and Cadi 🐾

Can you believe it is the 1st March already? It has been a lovely but busy week here for February half term. 5 new cats joined. We’ve had the lovely Betty and Vincent with us for 10 days who are both aged 14 and Vincent has been having medication twice a day for a heart condition. We’ve also looked after 4 year old Bella and 3 year old Peach who can both be a little nervous at times along with 6 year old Loki.

We welcomed back the lovely sibling kittens which we looked after over Christmas, Roxy and Rex who are now aged 9-10 months, Sooty came back for 2 days and finally not forgetting little miss madame Cadi who has been with us for 3 days. Tomorrow, the two Siamese cats from October will be back, Pixie and Ziggy-Stardust, looking forward to their antics.

Currently taking bookings from March through to May including over Easter 🗓️

Iris, the lovely Tortie who is about 13 years old has just been with us for 2 days, she loves a big fuss and sat on my knee yesterday on the first visit but a little shy today. We’ve also had the lovely Florence and Monty back with us for the last 2 days too!

It’s been a lovely 3 days looking after these 4 lovely babies and although we only had 3 days together, a lot has happened. Firstly, Waciak who is Diabetic was unwell on Monday (day 2), where I went in and found him lying down lethargic and not interested in his food which very unlike him. As he wouldn’t eat, I therefore did not administer his insulin, especially as I didn’t know if his blood sugar was low or not. Some of the symptoms of hyper and hypoglycaemia can be the same so it is therefore important to be aware of the signs and symptoms and this is where my Nursing skills instantly kicked in (Qualified Nurse to humans). Whilst unable to get hold of Waciak human mummy straight away, I contacted his vets with his symptoms who advised to bring him in so off we went to the vets. His blood sugar was a little on the high side (21.3mmol), likely caused from him being cheeky and eating too much on the Sunday (destroyed a tube of treats which were accidentally left out), he had also been sick on the Monday morning during the time I had left to pick up my cat carrier and to get back to him and having diarrhoea also. Waciak was diagnosed with GI upset and had some special GI pouches of wet food to help settle him. Waciak made a full recovery and here he is yesterday begging for his food and back on his normal insulin regime. Next we have Pippa, 5 month old, she went from being shy to where she normally eats upstairs but after the first day she came to the kitchen at meal times, even so confident she’s jumping up the counter to be fed first. No problems with Bluberry or Paputek, happily ate their food then want to do their own thing. Their mummy is back now and is forever grateful for all I did for her babies.
