What a crazy 12 months. Dog training requests have gone through the roof. I have had the pleasure of helping lots of people train their pups as well as work on several behavioural cases. I'm currently having a break for a few months to concentrate on some other things. I'll be back soon 😉👍

Third training session with Freddie the Welsh sheepdog. A very reactive dog around vehicles and other dogs. Lots of progress made today during a solo session despite the rain. We worked on small obstacle course to improve his leash work, and then did lots of BAT near to a roundabout to improve his reactivity to cars. Finished with some structured socialisation with my two. Really proud of his progress.

Some recall training with Flossie today amongst other things. Using an Acme 210.5 whistle. Always good to mix whistle and voice recalls when training. The whistle travels much further especially in windy conditions.

New CCTV installed for security and ideal for showing some loose lead walking training earlier with me and my spaniel Otis. This transfers out in to the street as the obstacles teach him to pay attention to me. We would front load food rewards at the start of this training then fade them out as we make progress.

Great teamwork today by Jack and Ivy. Lovely to see them bonding and figuring out how to negotiate the Small Obstacle Course together. Jack was like a sponge, and Ivy responded so quickly to luring and marking desired behaviour. Gold stars for both of them 🌟🌟

It's been a pretty hectic few weeks with lots of new pups to train. This little chappy is Monty and he has been learning the basics of negotiating my small obstacle course. Handler Julie has also been getting to grips with marking desired behaviour and practising her luring skills

Never underestimate the power of play with your pooch. Whether it's a game of tug, ball games, hide n seek or chase games, they are often the key to unlocking that extra drive to offer you desired behaviours in return for some fun and engagement.

Top tip for Loose lead walking training - find an area with some natural barriers. It prevents your pooch from drifting laterally so you can concentrate on position. Go up and down, changing direction whenever your pooch moves ahead of you. Give lots of praise and reward when they are trotting at your side. Patience and repetition is the key to success 🗝️😁
