🌱 Hello Green Dog! 🌱
Meet Cysur Pur 🐾
She is a wonderful girl who is just happy to see everyone! Unfortunately, she is also no stranger to being attacked by other dogs...
Cysur has been attacked staggering 8 times! But the last time, she ended up at the vets with some pretty nasty injuries 😔
Understandably, she is now not so sure about other dogs, and would prefer to tell them off before they come over. She is trying to keep herself safe because she's learnt that dogs can be bad news 🐕
Thankfully, she is an extremely resilient girl! She's working on ways to cope and her human is putting in an amazing work to build back her confidence 💪🏻
Dogs like Cysur should remind us all how extremely important it is to keep your dogs on the lead if your recall is a work in progress. Not every dog is going to be as resilient as she is, and for most dogs, one bad experience will be absolutely enough to cause behaviour issues.
We very often see reactive dogs as dogs who "misbehave", but is it actually the case, or did they just learn that they have to protect themselves? Emotions are a fragile thing, and can be influenced by so many experiences! Those emotions drive behaviours. We can find those behaviours difficult, but for the dogs - it's what they believe needs to be done to survive!
If they're giving you a hard time, it's very possible that they are having an even harder time themselves 💚
