Hello 👋🏻
welcome to all my new followers and Thankyou 🐾
I am Kayley the owner & founder of PetnurseUk.
I want to tell you all a little bit about me, what I do and why I do it.
I have always loved animals and from a young age I knew I wanted to work with them. Growing up my house was filled with furry little friends ❤️🐾 This love helped me get my first grown up job in a local vets at the age of 18 (2005) I loved it and I soon got my Veterinary Care assistant qualification 🐾 a few years later I studied for my Diploma in Veterinary Nursing 🐾 and became a registered Veterinary Nurse 💚 I decided to spread my wings and after a tough decision in 2018 I left the practice that I grew up in. I went on to work for the PDSA and later became a mummy to Beautiful girl aka my little apprentice (some of you have met her) Covid then hit, my daughter was 6months old and returning to work was no longer an option, then my Dad became ill with Pancreatic Cancer and my world was turned upside down. I sadly lost him in 2020 and he is the reason and the drive behind me setting up PetnurseUK. 💜 The little Purple Heart on my logo is for him 💜 ( not many people know that )
I have helped fundraise for Pancreatic Cancer every year since his passing and last year I was lucky enough to help Team wales for pancreatic Cancer with a big purple party in his memory 💜
As covid was approaching the end of lockdown I wanted to work and I had seen many vets turning away pets for routine procedures, procedures I could help with. That’s when PetnurseUk was born and I love it 🩷🐾 I have been running since 2021 and offer pet care in the comfort of your own home. The code of conduct for Veterinary Nurses has made it so I am unable to fully use my skills on my own and I am unfortunately limited with the level of care I can provide but I am hoping this will change in the very near future. 💚
I also work for a college that provide training courses for Veterinary Nursing and my Role is Veterinary Education Administrator. I am responsible for onboarding the trainee Veterinary Nurses at the beginning of the course and guiding them through their assessments at the end, I feel having been where they are I can really appreciate how they are feeling and help with my knowledge of the profession.
PetnurseUK may change its days and times occasionally but I am not going anywhere and I am forever grateful for the lovely clients (some who have become lifelong friends) and the furry faces I have met and continue to meet on this journey.
Your constant support is invaluable to me so Thankyou for allowing me to continue to do what I love ❤️🐾
Love
Kayley 🐾 Your pet nurse 🐾
