As the days get shorter and the temperatures drop, we adapt our walking routines to keep your pups safe, happy, and healthy all winter long. At Walkies with Woody, we know winter walks aren’t just about extra layers for us – they’re about extra care for your dogs. 🐶✨
Here’s how we adjust when the cold sets in:
🌧️ Drying off muddy & wet paws – Every walk ends with a good towel-off, so no soggy paw prints around the house (and no irritation for your pup’s pads).
🧊 Avoiding icy spots – We choose safer routes to protect little paws and joints from slipping.
🌲 Shorter, more frequent walks – If it’s really chilly, we split walk times so dogs get fresh air without the frostbite risk.
🧥 Winter gear when needed – Coats, reflective leads, and even paw balms if owners provide them, so pups stay warm and visible.
💡 Extra sniff breaks – Mental enrichment is just as important as physical exercise, especially when it’s too cold for long adventures!
Winter doesn’t stop us – it just means more cozy care. 🐕❤️
