🚨 Do You Recognise This Dog? 🐶

This beautiful Spaniel, who we’ve named Ellie, was found in Ashford.

She may have been involved in a road traffic accident, as she arrived with injuries to her eye and leg. She has received veterinary care and is now recovering well. 💕

Ellie is microchipped, but sadly the chip is not registered, so we’ve been unable to trace an owner.

We believe she may be missed by someone, so if you recognise Ellie or have any information, please contact us:

A fantastic family day out with something for everyone – from the Canterbury Pipe Band to Punch & Judy, face painting, delicious refreshments, an ice cream van, and plenty of stalls to browse. 🎶🍦🎨

All funds raised will go directly towards food, care & treatment for our rescued animals. 🐶🐱🐰

🐾 Life at Lord Whisky 🐾

This year has been unlike any other – we’ve never seen so many abandoned cats that are pregnant. 💔 To think these little cats, once someone’s pets, are left to fend for themselves is heartbreaking. Thankfully, some kind people have taken them in when we were full, and we’ve promised to help rehome their kittens and ensure mum is spayed.

We believe the increase is largely due to owners being unable to afford spaying, leaving it too late, or sadly having to move where landlords won’t accept cats. With so many cats needing homes, it’s easy to get one without considering the real costs of food, vets, and lifelong care. Too often, when the novelty wears off, out they go.

Yet, in the right home, cats bring so much joy – whether as part of a family or as loving comfort for someone alone. Each has their own personality and intelligence, and while some settle quickly, others just need a little more time to bond. 💕

🐾 In our maternity ward right now:
✨ Purdy – arrived as a stray at our clinic, and has 9 beautiful kittens (ginger, black, and tortoiseshell). They’re doing well and looking for homes in pairs.
✨ Rosie – left outside when her owners moved, she now has 5 kittens.
✨ Semolina – named after a cat once dearly loved, was living in an elderly gentleman’s garden. She now has 5 surviving kittens.
✨ Today, 2 more mums were brought in from Lydd Airport, though sadly no kittens were found with them.

Another lovely day with beautiful weather. 🌞

We thank all of our entertainers. The Bottles who always do us proud, Colin and Sam Ashton both giving such wonderful performances and of course Bert who plays his music and does the parking. 🎶🎸

Also thank you to our wonderful band of volunteers, some were here at at dawn and didn't leave until dusk!

And of course, thank you to all of our staff who all worked so hard and helped to bring the day together. 🩷

A total of £2537.90 was raised before expenses.

Our next event is our Boot Fayre on Saturday 13th September from 8am with entertainment from Canterbury Pipe Band and more

Meet 2 of the 5 Beautiful German Shepherds We Rescued

These stunning dogs came to us from a very sad and difficult situation. Now safe, they’re starting to come out of their shells - and 4 of them are ready to find loving, forever homes.

We’re looking for experienced owners who can offer the time, patience, and commitment to continue their training and help them build trust. They would do best in homes without other animals, either adopted individually or as a bonded pair.

If you have the heart and home to offer one (or two!) of these special dogs a fresh start, please reach out. 🐾
