Wow what a day! Our second activity day of the Easter holidays went down a storm - our younger members did an excellent job of caring for our ponies throughout the day, getting lots of jobs done as well as fun riding.

I would also like to say a massive thank you to all our YELA members, especially those who came and helped today. We wouldn't be able to run fantastic days like these without you and I am so proud to see your leadership skills shining through.

I think after today it's not just my phone on low battery 😂 time to recharge and get ready for our next activity day which is Friday Day Camp for our older members!

The Easter Bunny came to the yard today! A jam packed Easter activity day to start off the holidays - lots of games, lots of pony pampering, great teamwork and even lots of sweet treats 😋

What a fantastic February half term at Lakefield Pony Club! 🐴

We kicked things off with a lovely Pony Pamper Morning, where our members gave the ponies some well-deserved TLC — plenty of grooming, bonding, and smiles all around.

A huge congratulations to two of our members who successfully achieved their E Test — a brilliant milestone and first step on the Pony Club pathway.

We’re also incredibly proud of two members who completed their Bronze YELA Award. This is a fantastic achievement that recognises leadership, commitment, and teamwork - the dedication these two have shown over the winter months has blown me away!

Well done to everyone involved for making it such a positive and rewarding week. We love seeing our members grow in confidence, skills, and horsemanship!

2026 Achievement books now available!

If you would like to take part in this years Achievement books where the age old saying "points mean prizes" is really true, then just speak to Lydia when you are at the yard! Just £2 to get your booklet which you can start filling in!

Awards Evening!

Saturday 28th of February 2026, from 6:30pm at Lakefield Equestrian Centre.

Open to all members and those who have attended Pony Club groups in 2025, to celebrate everything you have achieved over the year.

Please let us know either by messaging on here or email if you would like to attend by Saturday the 24th of January so we can confirm numbers and order essentials!

Happy New Year everyone!

A couple of updates to get 2026 rolling....

Firstly a desperate reminder for anyone who had an Achievement Book over 2025 to please bring it to me by no later than the 17th of January. If you will not be at the yard before this date you can message this page with photos of the book. If I don't have them back I will be unable to order the correct rosettes for you for the awards evening!

Which brings us on to the awards evening, this year being held at Lakefield Equestrian Centre. This will be a Saturday evening in February (date to be confirmed) and an email will hopefully be making its way out with full details shortly. It is crucial that you reply to this just to let us know you are coming so we can order things accordingly.

Finally the first Pony Club area event of the year is looming! This is the Area Quiz this year being held at Arscott Hall, Tetcott, Holsworthy on Sunday 1st of March. It is teams of 3/4 and split into two age categories. We've had teams compete in this in the past even making it all the way to the finals so would be great to see more members get involved! If you are interested in making up a team please let me know as soon as possible as entries close on the 20th of Feb.
