A calm day, full of familiar faces and cosy moments. 🐾❤️

Today we're joined by Chuchu, Nella, Cece, Rupert and Tadhg – enjoying a gentle stroll, plenty of choice over where to relax, and all the quiet companionship that makes our days so special.

At The Cambridge Pet Nanny Dog Daycare, every dog is free to move at their own pace, whether that's exploring, snoozing on the sofa, or simply watching the world go by. 💛

At The Cambridge Pet Nanny, we believe dogs deserve choice.

Choice to rest. Choice to socialise. Choice to watch from a distance. Choice to simply be.

Today, Opal, Chuchu, Tadhg, Oscar and Mabel made the most of those choices 💛🐾

A 5-star animal welfare rating isn't just a certificate on the wall — it's a commitment to putting dogs' welfare at the centre of every decision we make.

For us, it means:

🐾 Small, carefully managed group sizes
🐾 Dogs are treated as individuals, not numbers
🐾 No forced interactions or overwhelming environments
🐾 Rest, sleep and quiet time are valued just as much as play
🐾 Safe, clean and secure facilities
🐾 Ongoing staff training and high welfare standards
🐾 Detailed health, vaccination and welfare records
🐾 Regular inspections to ensure standards are maintained

At The Cambridge Pet Nanny, our goal isn't simply to supervise dogs while their owners are at work. We strive to provide a calm, enriching environment where dogs feel safe, comfortable and understood.

A higher welfare standard means looking beyond what is required and focusing on what is best for the dogs in our care, every single day.

Because quality daycare isn't about how many dogs you can have. It's about how well you care for the ones you do. ❤️🐾

Busy Thursdays, but always kept thoughtful ✨

Today’s little group: Opal finding comfort and confidence in the small moments,
Rupert enjoying his gentle wanders and sunshine breaks,
Tadhg supervising snack quality as assistant manager,
and Chuchu enjoying the slower pace in the warmth 🤍

Even on our fuller days, we still keep things calm, structured and tailored to each individual dog — with plenty of rest, enrichment, one-to-one time and space to simply be dogs 🐾

We'll be open this Bank Holiday ☀️!

Here's what we have planned for tomorrow: plenty of calm indoor space with AC, gentle outdoor time, and regular pool breaks to keep the dogs cool.

We're looking forward to it 🐾

We’re really excited to share that the daycare has now been listed with the College of West Anglia for work experience placements.

What makes this even more special is that both myself and Sophie were once students there ourselves, so being able to now offer placements through the college feels incredibly full circle.

Supporting the next generation of animal care professionals is something that feels incredibly important to us, and we’re proud to be able to offer students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a calm, low-capacity daycare environment focused on welfare, behaviour and individualised care.

Students joining us will be able to observe:

• Canine body language and behaviour
• Calm group management
• Enrichment and welfare based care
• Dog-led walks and handling
• The day-to-day running of a small independent daycare

We hope it gives students a realistic insight into the level of care, patience and understanding that goes into creating a safe and balanced environment for dogs. 🐾

This little space under the table became someone’s safe place for quite a while 🤍

Not every success story needs photos.

A few months ago, a very fearful little dog joined us at daycare. The environment felt overwhelming for her at first, so we gave her the one thing she truly needed — time. Patience, respect and empathy.

She spent much of those early days tucked away in a quiet room with her blanket under a table, which quickly became her safe space. We never pushed interaction or forced socialisation. Instead, we simply sat nearby, allowed her to observe, decompress and approach us when she felt comfortable enough to.

Over time, something really lovely happened.

The nervousness softened. Trust began to build. And now she runs into daycare excited to see everyone, happily mingles with the group and has become incredibly affectionate with us both.

One of the loveliest messages we’ve received from her owner recently was: “She’s madly in love with you both! It was really sweet how pleased she was to see you in the park last night 🤗”

We also wanted to share this as a reminder that whilst social media can offer a little glimpse into our days, not every dog you see thriving here is shared online. We fully respect and support clients who choose to opt out of social media content, and their privacy is always honoured.

Some of the most meaningful progress happens quietly, behind the scenes — built through patience, trust and allowing dogs the space to feel safe in their own time 🤍

5. Safety & structure

Dog daycare should never be about chaos. It should be about thoughtful care, structure and nurturing each dog as an individual.

Not every dog thrives in loud, overstimulating environments — and that’s ok. We believe in smaller groups, calm energy, dog-led routines, and creating a space where dogs can genuinely relax, build confidence, and feel safe.

From rest periods and gentle social interactions to individual walks and enrichment tailored to the dogs in our care, every part of our day is designed with wellbeing in mind. Because quality care isn’t about fitting as many dogs in as possible — it’s about truly knowing the dogs in front of you 🐾
