Spotted quite a few youngsters running around in the Tricolor tub ! Very pleased to see the colony growing nicely although the babies are tiny. Who wants some when they are ready ?!

They’re here !! Merulanella sp. Tricolor and they are even more colourful than I thought they’d be 😍 Not had this family of isopods before so looking forward to a new challenge, I plan to keep them very similar to the duckies. Can’t wait to hopefully see little versions of these running around ! I think these are my new favourites 🤔 what’s your favourite ?

Another of the recent additions to the growing isopod army we have are these Spanish Giants - Porcellio expansus! I really like these, for me they seem almost Trilobite like. I know these can be a bit of a challenge to care for so I’m looking forward to working with them. So far the small group we have seem to be doing fine but time will tell if this colony is to grow!

This girl has got so big so quick !! 😍 She will gladly polish off an entire bowl of Pangea in one night! Guess when I find her a male I’ll have to make sure she has her own bowl still 🤣 Anyone else’s Leachie a pig ?

More isopods have been added to our breeding groups, up to 17 varieties now !! Recently added has been some of the larger species! First up Porcellio magnificus, These giants originating from southern Spain, can reach 2” and definitely prefer things on the dryer side unlike a lot of isopods. A moist retreat seems to suffice, looking forward to growing this colony !
