It's never to early to start desensitising them.
Milly hates unexpected random loud bangs.

The first year I had her, she was shaking so bad. I was holding her and walking up and down the lounge for 5 hours.

She’s better now since we started using Taiko Drumming on YouTube, but we still take care to make sure we’re relaxed so she can be relaxed.

Milly was mis-diagonised for 4 months when she had a broken leg.

It was a torn crucial ligament but that’s what the vet who diagnosed it said.

Our previous vets were so focused on her pancreatitis, and kept saying there’s nothing wrong with her. But every night she turned into a Hyde and could not settle. She was literally wanting to climb the walls to get away from the pain!

I wished I’d trusted my instinct and gotten a second option before we got to the stage when we just wanted to switch vets.

Why did I decide to start a dog box for dogs with health issues?
All the other dog boxes I’ve looked at include something that Milly wouldn’t be able to have. Treats that are high in fat, or contain something she’s allergic to, or a tennis ball.

And that feels like a waste. I’d have to donate half or most of the contents to our local dog rescue. But that defeats the purpose of getting something for Milly.

I get a couple subscription boxes myself (and I own a stationery subscription box myself) and I love when they arrive and I get to see what’s inside.

Milly loves to open boxes too!
And I want something that’s safe for her.

Milly isn’t the only dog with pancreatitis and food allergies in the UK.

I love Milly and her health is the most important thing for me.
And I want something suitable for those dogs with health issues so other dog owners can treat their dogs to a special monthly treat.
