Apologies for the delay in posting — I was unfortunately unwell over Christmas and into the beginning of January, and also had a family emergency to deal with. This is the first opportunity I’ve had to share this with you.

Look at gorgeous Bonnie! 😍 During the summer, this brave girl came in for her very first full handstrip — and at just 8 months old, she absolutely rocked it! Such a little superstar! 💪🛁

We have had some milestones here at The Beauty Zoo 🤩

Three puppies have graduated this past month 🎉🥳 and one is just starting his journey 🥰🐾🐶

I am humbled and so incredibly grateful for the wonderful people who entrust me with their pups, whether it be for first introductions into the grooming world, routine grooming sessions or one off appointments 🥰

🐶🚨🐾Cute Puppy Alert!🐶🚨🐾

Everyone meet Ozzy the Cavapoo! This courageous pup met clippers for the first time a few weeks ago and did so spectacularly that I couldn’t resist getting a video of it 🥰

During this video you can see I’m using treats to create a positive association with the clippers. This works well for Ozzy since he is motivated by treats 🥰 🍪🐾

I use my trimmers on all doodle crosses to remove the fur from places that are sensitive, easier to get knotted and/or miss when brushing. For example, the sanitary area, the underarms and behind the ears 🐶

In this video I use the command word ‘stand’ whilst placing him in a standing position. This teaches him to eventually stand for the full groom and removes the need for a belly strap in the future.

You may notice that when I sense he is not keen on the clippers in certain areas I will reassure him, back off, sometimes reposition and try again 🥰

During the end of this video I start to introduce the clippers to his head by turning my trimmer around. This process ensures I can safely introduce the clipper vibrations to his head and not cut off wanted floof 😂🐶🥰

Overall Ozzy was an absolute superstar! 🌟
This is mainly due to his parents introducing him to a grooming salon early on and working with him at home 🤩 🐶🐾
