How clever is Polly , she got up to have her tea, go toilet etc and when she wanted to lay back down she wanted her squiglets safe , she has literally built a round nest for them to sleep in so they are cosy and safe and not looking to lay close to polly, they will feed and then go back to the nest , this reduces the risk of them getting squat , polly is a big girl her piglets will fit in your hand so as you can imagine she cant always see or feel them , she is such a good mum 🥰 her breed became well know when clarksons farm started keeping them , sadly they had little advice and little to no knowledge of keeping pigs and so everything went wrong for them and the breed was branded as terrible mums , polly has proved time and again that that is not true , from her first litter to this one she has shown mothering skills I have never seen in any of our other pigs ,even dotty who was our top mum , we are not out of the woods yet and expect more losses from such a big litter but polly is certainly doing her best to reduce the risk 🥰🐷
