Finally the moment we've all been waiting for 🐷 polly has spent the last 2 weeks creating a spectacular nest , but there were issues , she built it at the front of the pen and in such a way her back side was up in the air right next to the water trough , yesterday afternoon during the downpour she started farrowing, the rain was so heavy it was flooding into pollys pen ,soaking her nest , by the time we got there she had 4 and squat one of them, we had to make the decision to move her nest to the back a much dryer safer place for polly and her piglets, she was of course was very unsettled by this and spent the next hour or so up and down ,as the piglets were born we put them under the heat lamp giving them security and polly space to settle down , eventually she did and had 12 tiny piglets in total , sadly we lost 2 more in the night so are now down to 9 🤞 there are no more accidents , well done polly it was a stressful birth but she got through it in the end, I will put all the names in a hat later that guessed 12 and pull out the winner ☺️
