🐾 Would you like to take the first step towards improving your dog's recall?

🌳 A space has just opened up this Thursday 21st at 10am at Martham Paw Ground!

This one-to-one training session is fully tailored to you and your dog. We’ll figure out what truly motivates them, how to get them engaged with you when off-lead, work on any issues such as avoiding the lead being clipped on, and introducing a new recall cue to train from scratch

These sessions are usually £45, but today only I’m offering a 25% discount as it’s such short notice! 🎉

(If you prefer, we can work on something else, it doesn't have to be recall!)

For the discount code and booking link, head to the comments section ⬇️

They do hear you.
They may just not respond.
What looks like ignoring is often your dog prioritising what feels the most safe or important in that very moment.

They may be processing other information first... a sound, smell, or a movement that caught their attention.
They need time to process what it is they just experienced.
They might be uncertain about what you’re asking or lack enough practice/history with the cue in that situation.
Stress, excitement or even fear can override their ability to focus on you.

Sometimes it’s about what their brain decides matters most right now.

This kind of muzzle is not to be used for walking.

They are a temporary, short term safety measure, such as a vet visit. Walking in mesh muzzles puts dogs at risk, especially in this heat.

If your dog suffers from pica, use a basket type muzzle and put some mesh or other breathable fabric over it so your dog cannot eat "treasures" but can still pant and drink through it.

👇🐾👍

Fabric dog muzzles, compromise a dog's health and safety. As customers, we have an obligation not to buy these inhumane muzzles

When changing my schedule due to the weather, it's not just the temperature to be considered.

Humidity, wind, breed, age and health of my doggy clients also have to be taken into account. Smaller dogs, flat faced (brachycephelic) dogs cope less well even at lower temperatures.

I would rather cancel a walk than risk them becoming unwell.

This is not an indictment on other walkers who chose to continue. They know their dogs and maybe have cooler places they can walk. That's fine too.

Mr B even finds his garden a bit too warm! 🙈🐾

👇🐾 There will be changes this week 🐾👇

Hot weather might mean a change of plans 🔥

If your dog’s walk, daycare, or grooming appointment is cancelled because of the heat, please know it’s done with care.

It's really hard for dogs in hot weather especially flat-faced breeds, older dogs, or those with health conditions.

These changes are made to help keep your dog comfortable and well.

Thanks so much for understanding 🐾☀️
