If you read last week’s newsletter you’ll know that my daughter has a talent for art. It is patently clear that I do not.

However, my kids have a (totally understandable) aversion to being posted online so this is as close as I’m going to get to sharing a ‘back to school’ pic. I’ve done my best and yes, this really is my best, AFTER a couple of practice runs 😂

Eldest has started an engineering course at college (that’s him in the ubiquitous hoodie) and is very happy to be going (he started last week so has had time to settle in).

Youngest is going into Yr 9 (or Form 3 if you’re as old as me 😳😂) and today is the first day back. She is not quite so happy, mainly due to having to get up at an ungodly hour that she fervently believes shouldn’t even exist. She was looking forward to catching up with all her friends again though 🥰

And me, I’m about to take Jac out and then crack in with the autumn launch prep. Nearly done - more bars to wrap today and everything will be live by 7am tomorrow - squeeeeeee!!

Have a great day you lovely lot!

Dry skin season is coming (boo!) so as if the autumn specials weren’t enough, I’ve only gone and made matching Luxury Body Cream for three of them too.

Hocus Pocus.
Campfire Marshmallow.
Lilith.

So you can wash with your favourite, then slather yourself in the same gorgeous scent afterwards.

Because if we’re going to spend the next six months complaining about the weather, we might as well be beautifully moisturised and smell fabulous while we do it.

Look at me, thinking ahead and everything.

Don’t say I never do anything nice for you 😂

“Will handmade soap dry my skin out?”
or
“I can’t use soap, it dries my skin”…

… are two things I hear often when I’m out and about meeting people. It’s probably one of the biggest worries people have before switching from liquid soap. And I completely understand why.

If your previous experience of bar soap involves one of those cheap supermarket bars that left your skin feeling tight, squeaky and desperate for moisturiser, you’d be forgiven for thinking that’s just what soap DOES.

This is often because not everything that looks like a bar of soap IS actually proper, well made soap.

Many mass-produced bars are made primarily with synthetic detergents rather than being soap made in the traditional way from oils and lye. There’s nothing inherently wrong with that, but they’re a very different product.

My bars are proper, traditional soap, made from plant oils and butters, with naturally occurring glycerine left right where it belongs. I formulate them to cleanse effectively without that horrible dry feeling, then leave them to cure for weeks before they ever reach your bathroom.

Will I promise they’ll magically transform your skin, cure your eczema and make you look 12 years younger?

Hell no. It’s soap, not witchcraft 😅

But if you’ve avoided solid soap because you think ALL bars will leave your skin feeling dryer than a cream cracker, you might be pleasantly surprised.

This one’s Hocus Pocus - and old favourite back for the autumn season only. Cherries, citrus, berries and florals, bold and a little bit cheeky. And fewer than 50 available.

I know it’s only soap but LOOK at it 🤩

It’s just an added bonus that it makes the whole room smell fruity, sweet and ever so slightly sharp every time you go anywhere near it.

This is Rhubarb Marmalade, one of this year’s autumn specials. It’s got all that juicy, jammy sweetness you’d expect, but with enough tart rhubarb to stop it becoming too sugary.

Basically, it looks gorgeous, smells gorgeous and makes washing your hands feel considerably fancier than it has any right to 😂

The autumn specials arrive on Friday.

I’ll leave that information with you… 😇

Morning gang!

It’s September! Hope you had a lovely long BH weekend? We had a trip to the circus but otherwise it was pretty quiet, with lots of Jac walks and very little work or social media 😅

Back to real life today though, the eldest has left for his first proper day at college, Dean and I are back to work, and it’s the last couple of days of freedom for the youngest before she’s back to school on Thursday.

Just four days to go until the launch of the autumn specials, so LOTS to do this week, but first a walk with Jac and then off to the office to pack up the weekend orders. Have a great day!!

Vicki xx

I’m *trying* not to work over the bank holiday weekend, but this little lot needed cutting - lots more Eryri bars on the way…
All shaped by hand, not two bars are ever the same.

***Ready to embrace autumn?***

Eight days to go…

Spiced Golden Pear - Sweet ripe pear with a rich spice medley of cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and star anise, blended with smooth woods and a hint of vanilla. The ultimate autumnal scent.

Campfire Marshmallow - A true Soap Mine classic! Sweet-and-smoky toasted marshmallow with a solid base of campfire smoke. Deliciously cosy.

Rhubarb Marmalade - Tangy orange and rhubarb with apple, on a cedarwood and vanilla base. Fresh from the jar.

Lilith - Dark, brooding, and indulgent: bittersweet cocoa, seductive patchouli, earthy spices. One of my personal favourites.

Hocus Pocus - Playful and ever-popular: a sherbety blend of dark cherry, lime, orange, strawberry, vanilla and a hint of leafy greens.

Maple & Elm - Warm, sweet and deliciously cosy, it blends rich maple syrup with smoky hickory, creamy coconut and cocoa in a smooth, woody, elm base

Which one’s calling to you?

26/08/2026

I wouldn’t do that to you again 🙈😂

The cut of Lilith 🤩

If someone had told me, before I first smelled it, that patchouli and dark chocolate would fast become one of my all-time favourite scents I’d never have believed them. Nevertheless, here we are.

There will be only 50 bars of this one available on launch day, and two of those already have my name on. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Lilith handmade soap, launching Friday 4th September.
