Today we’re marking two things at once - the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, and Father’s Day 💙✨

The solstice reminds us to pause and appreciate the light💛 ✨ Even on the busiest day, the sun gives us more time to be together, to notice what really matters.

Father’s Day is exactly that - a moment to notice. 💙 To thank the dads, grandads, uncles, carers, and father figures who show up every single day. Not just today, but on the ordinary days that don’t make it onto a calendar. The lifts to school, the advice you didn’t ask for but needed, the quiet way they keep things steady.

So as the sun stays a little longer tonight, let’s use that extra light ☀️ Spend it with the people who’ve given you theirs all year💙

To all the fathers and father figures diolch. Thank you for being our longest day.

This isn’t just another planning application.

This is about the future of our community.

The proposed Pencoed Ganol (Pendderi Road) Solar Farm would see 120 acres of productive farmland transformed into a vast industrial-scale solar development on the doorstep of Bynea and Llanelli.

We support renewable energy. What we cannot support is a development that comes at the expense of our community, our wellbeing, our wildlife, our countryside and the services that so many local people rely on.

The most heartbreaking consequence for us is that Brynteg Farm Wellbeing Sanctuary could be forced to close.

Brynteg Farm is not just a farm.

It is a safe place for children with Additional Learning Needs.

It is a place where disabled children can connect with animals and nature.

It is a vital resource used by schools, families and organisations supporting mental health and wellbeing.

It is a sanctuary where people find peace, comfort, confidence and healing.

And it is the only facility of its kind in our local area.

If this development goes ahead, everything we have built could be lost.

But this doesn’t just affect Brynteg Farm.

🚁 Concerns have been raised that glare from the development could affect the Wales Air Ambulance flight path and emergency operations.

🏡 Residents fear the impact on homes, property values and insurance costs.

🐑 Wildlife and animals will face disruption to their habitats and environment.

🔊 Construction noise and ongoing industrial noise from multiple inverters could permanently change the peaceful character of our community.

🚜 120 acres of valuable farmland could be lost from food production.

🚛 Increased construction traffic will place additional pressure on local roads and infrastructure.

🌳 A 3.1km fence, over 3 metres high, would transform open countryside into a large enclosed industrial site.

We are residents of Bynea, Llanelli and the surrounding communities, united in our determination to protect our home, our countryside, our wellbeing and our future.

This is bigger than Brynteg Farm.

This is about protecting something that, once lost, can never be replaced.

The Old Mill Cancer Foundation cancer charity day retreat on the farm.

A spectacular event for ladies who benefited from holistic therapy, animal therapy and an outdoor spa on the farm 💙✨

So many incredible, bold and brave ladies attended today.
