My name is Karolina and I provide pet rat boarding services in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk 🐀 I am an hour away from Stansted Airport, 1 hour and 20 minutes away from Luton Airport and under 2 hours from Gatwick Airport. If you don't drive, there is also a train station in town 🙂
ACCOMODATION:
Your beloved pet rats will be staying in one of my spare bedrooms. I have 5 levels windsor 100 cage which can go as high as 152cm, depending on how many levels you would like me to use, how many rats you have and their mobility needs. I also offer coco large cage. They will get at least an hour of free roam a day in their own room / landing / living room in a play pen with enrichment. I use snowflake supreme or greenmile substrate, you can chose from both or a mixture / bring your own. I use breeder celect / back2nature litter for litter trays and anigene / F10 surface disinfectant for cleaning alongside mixture of distilled white vinegar and water.
MEDICATION AND VET CARE:
I am happy and confident to administer medication to your ratties. This is free of charge. I have a local veterinary clinic with emergency vet in case your pet would become unwell - Bury St Edmunds Veterinary Centre with rat savvy vets and nurses.
FOOD AND SUPPLEMENTS:
I make my own shunamite mix and would be happy to share it for £1 per day (£1.50 for over 5 rats) / you can bring your own mix. Fresh food and extra protein for younger rats are included in the daily charge alongside treats. Daily essentials and calcivet water supplements are free of charge / you can bring your own.
PRICES:
Windsor 100
Up to 4 rats - £13 per day
5-7 rats - £14 per day
8 or more - £15 per day
Coco Large up to 5 rats £12 per day
Deposit - 10% to be paid at the time of booking to secure dates.
WHAT I NEED FROM YOU:
As much information about your ratties as possible including health issues, mobility issues, behaviour and group dynamics please 🐀
I have spare hammocks but I would ask for you to bring at least one of theirs that smells like home to make them feel comfortable for the first few days.
When you bring them over please ensure to use substrate from their own cage in a carrier so I can transfer it over to my cage and make them feel less stressed in a new place 😊
A little bit about me 🌻
I have 7 female rats who have their own double bedroom away from boarding room. I also have a friendly chihuahua who doesn't have access to the boarding or my rat's room. I started my rat keeping a couple of years ago
I sometimes rescue, foster and rehome rats in need. I am also an admin of a Rats UK: help don't criticise where we support other rat owners with our knowledge of rat health, needs and everything else rat related. I will ensure your rats have their own holiday when you have yours with daily updates and videos 💙
