❄️ Snow Day Safety: Hidden Hazards for Pets 🐾

Snow days can be fun, but winter weather brings some risks for our furry friends. Here are a few things to watch out for:

🐶 Cold exposure & frostbite – Small, senior, and short-haired pets are especially vulnerable. Limit outdoor time and dry paws and bellies after walks.
🧂 Ice melt & antifreeze – Many de-icers and antifreeze products are toxic if licked off paws or ingested. Wipe paws after walks and use pet-safe products when possible.
🐾 Icy surfaces – Slips and falls can cause sprains or injuries. Keep walks short and controlled.
🏠 Warm hiding spots – Cats may seek warmth under car hoods or near engines. Always tap your hood before starting your car.
🍫 Holiday treats – Snow days often mean snacks at home. Keep chocolate, xylitol, and fatty foods out of reach.
