Another fun filled week down at Oaktree.
This week we have enjoyed trips to the cinema, bowling, the collective hub, we went head to head on the golf course and shot some hoops on the basketball court. We’ve also had a trip to markeaton park and enjoyed a splash around and obviously we stopped off for an ice cream. We also managed to squeeze in some arts and crafts and some yoga!

Here’s a round up of our last two weeks in ISH 🌺

As you can see, our young people are settling in so well to our new intensive support hub. They have been working hard in their arts&crafts sessions, creating some beautiful decorations to truly make the space their own 🎨

They are building trusting connections with those supporting them, displaying excellent engagement in their sessions and are being extremely helpful, keeping the hub clean and tidy whilst practising their life skills 🧹

What a jam packed week we have had at our Burton Centre! Hub 1 have covered half of the cities in the midlands, with one group seeking out the hidden gems in Birminghams Red Brick Market and another brushing up on their historical facts at Leicester Museum 📖

We have also had groups visit Cannock Chase, Lichfield Maize Maze, Tamworth and have had lots of delicious pub lunches in between! Amongst all of this, we have also made time for plenty of walks, dancing and swimming 💦

Friends who play together stay together ♥️

We have had the absolute best week this week (despite the heat… we have found lots of fun ways of staying cool: most involving water fights of course)

Oaktree have been out and about enjoying their community based activities as well as enjoying their time at the centre. The bbq was outstanding. Great work guys.

We love an adventure here at Lotus and a heatwave certainly isn’t going to get in our way of exploring our community!
We have been stickman spotting, horse treat making and re-creating that famous pigeon scene from home alone 🐦

Trips to the cinema, bowling and Nottingham Castle have kept us cool out of the weather, with LEGO tasks, baking and puzzle games keeping us entertained back at the centre 🧩

To end the week, some of our hubs came together for a fantastic meal out at WingWah! We love coming together to see friends that we don’t always get chance to spend time with - doing this over a Chinese buffet and ice cream machine is hardly something to grumble about 🥡

Look at these photos… can you believe that some people would call this going to work? Not us. We are blessed to spend our days out with those that we support, making the most amazing memories together.

We have ventured all over this week, obviously the ice cream testing at each place has been purely in the name of market research… we did find some good ones though!

And take a look at those mighty breakfasts at our cafe at waterside community centre! They are the reason we all race down Heath Road on a Tuesday morning! A banging breakfast for less than a fiver, you really can’t go wrong!

Huge congratulations to one of our young people from Hub 3 who has landed himself a job! All that work building skills has most definitely paid off! Well done 👏🏼 We are very proud of this huge achievement.

Smiles all round this week at Oaktree!
This week we’ve enjoyed bowling, some local walks and scavanger hunts. Brushed up on our baking skills with some lovely cheese and fruit scones. We blasted off to the space centre, had a trip to bowling, badminton and of course our weekly dance class!
The weather is looking very bright next week and we can’t wait to enjoy it with our friends 🪷💕

Watching our young people build upon and gain new skills is what we love most, and our new hub gives us the most amazing opportunities for this.

The start of the summer holidays are here! the weather may of been abit dull this week but our stapenhill centre certainly wasn’t!

we’ve made the most of our time with trips out to Matlock, Conkers , Scropton horse centre, farms and much more!
As well as our baking days, dance lessons, sensory exploration and group games…We’ve had laughter, smiles and friendship accompany us all week🤩

"It's the memories we make with others that are forever written in our hearts””

This week we have explored foremark, been bowling, visited the cinema, cooked up some lovely food for our bbq, enjoyed our weekly dance class and visited twycross zoo! We’ve also enjoyed some lovely picnics and some nice meals out with our friends.

We hope you have a great weekend ready to do it all over again next week ☺️🪷💕
