We’ve bounced our way around Rebound, made a splash at Splash Landings, met some very chatty residents at Tropical Birdland, stocked up on chocolate at Cadbury World and paid a visit to Birmingham’s very own Prince of Darkness at the Ozzy Osbourne Museum.

It’s been a week full of adventure, laughter and plenty of memories made along the way.

Where we’ll end up next week is anyone’s guess!

We have full time roles available at Lotus Enrichment Centre, and we’re not just looking for “staff”… We’re looking for people who bring energy into a room
People who can turn a simple idea into something exciting…

Our days aren’t your typical 9–5. One minute you could be running a creative session in the hub, the next you’re out in the community bowling, swimming, bouncing, climbing, exploring, or grabbing a pub lunch with the people we support.
We want people who are:
• Creative and happy to lead fun, meaningful sessions
• Enthusiastic and full of positive energy
• Active and up for getting out and about
• Naturally caring and able to build genuine relationships
• Willing to go the extra mile to make someone’s day better

Over the last two weeks down at Oaktree, we have enjoyed a variety of different activities, making the most of the lovely weather. We have taken part in nature painting at Rosliston Forestry Centre, smoothie making sessions, and a land train ride around the beautiful National Memorial Arboretum. We have also enjoyed cinema trips and a visit to Leicester Museum, where everyone was fascinated by the dinosaur skeleton exhibits.

It’s been wonderful seeing everyone engaging in new activities, learning new skills and spending quality time together 🪷💕

Well that was a busy week! We haven’t stopped for a minute, and as you can see from the photos, we have had so much fun!

Fruit smoothie making, cooking, baking and playing games at the centre, exploring fun activities in the community including Warwick castle, laser tag, rebound and so much more.

Now to bake over the bank holiday weekend and have a well deserved rest.

Massive thank you to all of our staff for all of their continued efforts to make amazing memories with our young people.

This week we would like to shine a light on our Café Queens, Sarah and Nicola.

Week in and week out, they are there with smiles on their faces, ready and waiting to serve up delicious breakfasts and, of course, their delicious baked sweet treats.

Behind the scenes, they do so much more than just run the café. Sarah and Nicola put incredible care, time and effort into creating opportunities for our young people, helping them build confidence, learn new skills and gain valuable experiences along the way. The patience, encouragement and support they give never goes unnoticed.

We want to say a huge thank you for everything you both do. We are very lucky to have you both as part of our team.

If you haven’t visited us yet, why not come along and see what all the fuss is about? Join us every Tuesday between 9:30am and 11:15am for breakfast, sweet treats and a warm welcome. We’d love to see you there ☕️

To celebrate our 5th birthday, we came together for an evening of indulgence, extravagance and celebration at our Masquerade Ball.

It was incredible to see so many people come together to celebrate this milestone with us and to make memories alongside our amazing young people. The atmosphere tonight has been nothing short of magical.

We want to give a huge shoutout to our incredible staff team, who have gone above and beyond to make this evening so special. From the stunning decorations, to the food, costumes and delicious puddings… every little detail was thought about with care and love.

We truly couldn’t have created such a magical evening without you all. Thank you for everything you do, not just tonight, but every single day.

Here’s to 5 amazing years of Lotus and many more memories still to come.

We would like to officially introduce Heather, our Training and Recruitment Lead across all Lotus services.

Heather joined us in 2023 as Team Leader at Oaktree and quickly showed a real passion for staff development and training. Alongside leading the team at our Swadlincote hub, she has been delivering first aid and manual handling training to our staff team, helping to build confidence, skills and knowledge across the service.

Last week, Heather attended her NAPPI UK Train the Trainer course, and we are so proud to congratulate her on successfully completing her first week of training. This is a huge achievement and will allow her to begin delivering NAPPI UK training to our teams moving forward.

We wanted to take a moment to shine a light on Heather and thank her for all of her hard work, dedication and commitment to Lotus.

Keep doing your thing, Queen 👑

What an incredible week we’ve had at Oaktree! 🌟

From sensory swims to getting messy in our gardening sessions, every day was full of fun. We kept active with basketball, got creative in the kitchen with baking, and enjoyed a trip to the cinema. We also had a lovely visit to the Lotus Café where we enjoyed some amazing food and obviously we can’t forget our weekly dance class with Stacey!

It’s been a week full of laughter, new experiences, and wonderful moments 🪷
