🐾 I am now Closed for Annual Leave until Monday 13th April.

🫶 Local Loves Shoutout 🫶

⭐️ Black Rock Vets 🐾

Each Christmas I usually like to put up a little local loves post for a local business, this Christmas period became more complicated than usual for many reasons and I didn't get around to it, however, I still wanted to put one up as this was a very personal one for me.

Anyone that knows me, knows that aswell as dogs, i also have cats who are all my world.

On Christmas Eve my little clingy shadow cat Penny had to have emergency surgery for an obstruction (shes a monkey!), and I can not say how thankful I am to all at Black Rock Vets who got her in and seen fast, put up with me being worried sick, and got her operated on and back home with me for Christmas day, and shes currently healing well. 🐈‍⬛️🎄

Vetinary Staff have such a difficult job, both rewarding and heartbreaking with long hours and a strenuous mental toll. Working in the pet Industry I have many friends across different practices and I see the dedication, the family time sacrifices and hardwork all year round.
So,
🫶 A heartfelt thank you to ALL Veterinary Staff for the dedication, skill and compassion you show throughout the year. From vets and Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs/RCNs), to student nurses, animal care assistants, reception teams and support staff, your commitment to animal welfare never wavers. This is especially true over the Christmas and New Year period, when you continue to work long hours, provide emergency care and support worried owners while many others are able to rest and celebrate. Your professionalism, kindness and resilience make a profound difference every single day, and it is deeply appreciated.

❄️ It's that time of year to share the winter care guide again, it's an oldie but important ❄️

As a wrap up....

☆ As tempting as it is winter is not the time to have a longer coat.

☆ The most important thing is the quicker your dogs coat dries the better, a longer thicker coat will take longer to dry.

☆ Wind, mud, rain is awful for matting.

☆ If you struggle to maintain a coat in the dry weather then going longer when it's wet and windy is not advisable.

☆ If you do go longer then you must increase home grooming, which does mean a brush through after each walk. (No Towel rubbing to dry)

☆ Matted clip offs are a higher cost.

☆By keeping a manageable length, you lower the risk of having to have a very short shaved down when it's the coldest months.

☆ If you decide to go longer now, Christmas is only 8 weeks away and you risk a naked clip off for Christmas.

☆ I will not cause suffering and brush out matting.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 2026 Bookings Update ⭐️⭐️⭐️

It's completed 🙌
I had printed off a listing of every active client and have ticked off every dogs name as I booked in the appointments, so rest assured all of my clients have appointments booked for next year.
I need to stop and have a little break now before returning back to the salon tomorrow as my eyes can't focus any longer. So I will be sending out appointments over the week, but don't worry, you are all booked in 🥰

When you recieve your appointments please do bear in mind that 2026 is now almost fully booked out so there is not much availability to change anything, there is always the option of going on the cancellation list though if theres any dates you cant do 😊
I have done my very very best to stick to every dogs schedule. However, there may be appointments that are pushed back due to holidays, especially in January as the 2 week Christmas close down really pushes everyone back, also April as i have annual leave as well as the Easter Bank Holidays.
This is unavoidable I'm afraid and everyone has been pushed along. As long as you continue to brush at home, then it wouldn't make any welfare difference.

💗 I'm putting the phones down now so will be unable to answer messages 🐾

Thank you all again for your loyalty and repeat bookings, I can't believe that next year is pretty much fully booked again!! Thank you all 🥰

🥰 That's me set up for the next few days! The phone is going crazy 😅

Keep those booking requests coming as today will be me plotting out schedules, and then tomorrow I will be inputting onto the system, so hopefully I can message appointments back out from Sunday .... (I underestimated the time it would take last year and forgot to block more time out for it this year, so I'll do my best)

When you receive your appointments, please do quickly check over them to make sure I've not missed a groom out 🐾
