For someone that doesn't drive more than an hour, Karan and I did a nine hour around trip, just to pick up one dead bird today. A very long drive , but SO worth it. Pictures will follow soon, but it's going in my room along with this lot.

This has been a huge job, from tanning the skins, mounting the animals, making the rocks and doing the habitats. But it's come up a lovely piece

I always delay doing the lifesize, as my hands seize up for a few days after all the sewing, but when they're done, they do look impressive. Got four more large lifesize to do over the next few days, I'm going to be living off jack Daniels and ibuprofen.

I really wish people appreciated the work that goes under the skin. This is two days just altering the form, and still got another day in it. That's before all the work relaxing, tanning and thinning the skin. I'll be at about £5 an hour for this mount when finished

Been sitting around a while, but leopard and klippy going out the door. Cast fibreglass rock makes this mount a real unique piece

I sent this dead coopers hawk to Bob 20 years ago, it had serious issues with the plumage and after skinning it, he returned it as he couldn't do it. Luckily I kept it and got it out the freezer, left him to to it so he could see how he has improved over the years, and as he says now 'it's only a few more stitches'. I hate seeing less than perfect specimens thrown away.
