A fantastic evening on Thursday night for our annual Feeds vs Farm sports match, all in support of Cynthia Spencer Hospice.

We have raised a fantastic £777.80, which will be used to support people with life limiting illnesses and their families. It’s a charity close to many at Heygates, so we’re very proud to support them.

🏑 Feeds vs Farm hockey was a great fast game, with farm taking the win at 5-3. We’ll have you next year Farm team!!

🥎 Rounders offered a more laid back match, and with mixed teams of both farm and feeds, it made it difficult to chose which side won!

For senior horses we offer Heygates twilight years mix, a superior quality coarse mix made with soft palatable cereals.

Bonkers about Balancers?🐴

Balancers have become increasingly popular in recent years due to their ability to supply quality proteins, vitamins, and minerals, without dramatically increasing calorie intake. This makes them well suited to horses that are good doers, overweight or prone to laminitis.

Equally, our Equi balancer an be used as a supplement for active horses or poor doers, fitting in alongside their current feed to provide necessary vitamins and minerals. We've included biotin for hoof and coat condition, and linseed to boost immunity and reduce inflammations.

We also offer the Heygates Stud Balancer, designed for the differing nutritional requirements of mares, foals, and stallions.

Heygates Equine Coarse Mix Range 🏇

We offer a wide variety of coarse mixes for horses and ponies depending on their work, temperament, condition, or lifestage.

🐴 Traditional Blend Coarse Mix
Our Traditional Blend is a non-heating mix, designed for those at rest or in light work. It is highly digestible with lucerne providing natural grass protein. Necessary vitamins and minerals are included.

🐴 Meadow Blend Coarse Mix
A premium quality non-heating mix, with added herbs, garlic, and live yeast to aid digestion. With a higher protein content, our Meadow Blend is suited to horses at rest, and in light to medium work.

🐴 Challenger Coarse Mix
For the horse in hard work, our Challenger Mix is a combination of oil and carbohydrate sources, rolled oats and flaked cereals to provide balanced, quick release energy for optimum performance. This week our area reps took part in a training session with Felicity from Kingshay Farming. Thank you Felicity!

Kingshay is a dairy costings service that works with dairy farmers and advisors to provide independent and evidence-based advice. It is a service that we can offer to our customers here at Heygates.

Services as part of the Kingshay package include milk predictors, monthly and annual summaries, feed and forage reports, and replacement summaries. Kingshay also offer greater depth packages to include health summaries, mastitis, fertility and lameness reports, along with full financial summaries. They also offer an app, available to both apple and android, so we can view the data whilst out on farm with you.

If you are a current dairy customer speak to your rep about using Kingshay for your herd.
