Is your adolescent dog currently giving you a run for your money? If so, you’re in good company. Around 65% of the enquiries I receive are about dogs between 6–24 months.
This stage can bring:
• Pulling or ragging on the lead
• Jumping and mouthing
• Over-the-top excitement
• Ignoring cues they previously knew
• Reactivity or big feelings around dogs or people
And the causes are completely normal:
• Their brain is rewiring
• Their hormones are peaking
• Their confidence and independence are changing daily
• Their impulse control is at its lowest
If you’re finding this stage overwhelming, I can help you make sense of it and build calmer, more predictable days. Get in touch if you would like a free discovery call to see what's going on and how you can approach this phase.
