Chocolate might be a treat for us, but for dogs, it can be seriously dangerous … especially during the Easter period when it’s everywhere!

Even small amounts of chocolate can cause symptoms like vomiting, restlessness and in severe cases, seizures. It’s best to keep all Easter goodies well out of reach and be extra cautious with little ones leaving treats around the house.

Having spent a significant chunk of my career managing the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of retired racing greyhounds for a similar charity; I can vouch for how much of a rewarding role this will be for someone. Retired athletes are often overlooked and misunderstood and some of them can take years to adapt to their new lives outside of racing but nothing a bit of hardwork, patience and dedication can't help! We have an exciting opportunity available for you to make a real difference to the lives of the greyhounds, lurchers and other sighthounds rescued by Forever Hounds Trust each year. The role will be based at our Centre, close to Cullompton in Devon, where we rescue and home whilst being able to offer some of our dogs the extended assessment and care they need.

Sighthound Carer - flexible part-time or full-time working up to 40 hours per week, working on a rota basis. Full time role £25,396.80 per annum, part-time will be pro rata.

Practical experience of working with dogs in a rescue or kennel environment, a keen interest in animal welfare and excellent customer care skills are essential. Candidates will also need a full driving licence.
