⭐Cat of the Week 🏡

This week's Cat of the Week is the handsome Kitkat. He is a two-and-a-half-year-old male, tabby domestic shorthair, who is very shy at first but is very friendly once he gets to know you. Kitkat found coming into the Centre overwhelming at first and spent some time with our Desensitisation team, learning to relax and trust new people.

Once he felt more at ease, Kitkat spent some time with the Enrichment team, getting used to different people, being handled and playing with toys until he felt confident around people again and ready for rehoming. We are so pleased that Kitkat has now been adopted and has recently gone to his new home 🐈😻

It's time to get your camera's ready because there are just two weeks until our fun online Cat Show which will be running on our page between 7th - 18th July.

We will be providing a Justgiving page link when the online cat show goes live for you to make a suggested donation of £2.00 per category entry to support our work here at the Wales Cat Centre, and we'll be opening a category each day between 7th - 11th July.

You'll then have a further week to add your photos for all categories and to add your likes to the cat pics that have been entered.

To enter, all you will need to do is simply post a picture you think is suitable for the category/categories you wish to enter and upload them each day when the event is live.
Each image posted will be judged purely on the number of likes and the winners will be announced after the closing date.

So, you have plenty of time to get taking photos!

Our categories are:
1) Cats at play
2) Cats and boxes
3) Golden oldie
4) Most comical cat
5) Best in show

All winners and runners up will receive a rosette and some cat goodies too. 🤩

So, save the date, get snapping and watch this space for more information. 🤗🐾

❤ CAN YOU OFFER THE BEAUTIFUL RYOBI A FOREVER HOME? ❤

Ryobi, 1 year old tortoiseshell and white female, is one of our longest staying cats at the centre, and we cannot wait to find her a loving home.

She was admitted in to the centre on 25/04/25 when she was sadly found straying. Unfortunately we were not able to locate an owner as she had not been microchipped.

Ryobi has the sweetest personality - all of her cat carers adore her and love having lots of cuddles with her. She adores human company, and will happily roll over on her back for tummy tickles. She is also very playful, and loves a catnip mouse!

Ryobi was quite poorly on arrival, and after lots of vet checks, we suspect that she has IBD. This is being controlled by her being on a specific hypoallergenic diet, and medication. She will need to continue on these long term in her new home.

She would happily live with children, but due to her stomach issues, she would need to be an only pet incase she nibbled at other pets food.

If you have any questions, please feel free to pop down and meet her. She would love to say hello to you all! and her cat carers will be more than happy to explain her condition to you more in depth.

She is an absolute darling, and will make someone such a lovely companion. Please visit to find out more about her, and the other cats we have available for adoption: www.cats.org.uk/bridgend -all We are open every day excluding Tuesdays, between 11am - 2.45pm. We look forward to meeting you!

💜 HOME SWEET HOME 💜

We would love to share with you, with her owner Hannah's permission, a wonderful update we have had about the gorgeous Boo and Scout.

Boo - 2 year old white female, (was called Corrie at the centre with us), arrived back in July 2023 when she was just a kitten, along with her siblings as sadly part of an unwanted litter. (Please see the last photo attached of her, when she arrived at the centre.)

It was love at first sight when Hannah met her, and she was soon rehomed. As you can see she settled in perfectly to her new home and has become a lovely snuggle buddy for the handsome Scout.

Her owner has said : "She is the sweetest cat! Boo is a confident girl, who is always the first to greet visitors. She loves to curl up on our laps to nap. Boo (believe it or not) also loves to play fetch! When we were in the process of adopting her, a volunteer told me that she loves being petted and will even flop onto the floor to show her belly. She still does this. I’ve never met another cat who loves belly rubs as much as Boo. Most of all, she loves her big brother Scout. She won’t allow us to clean her eyes, however, she does tolerate it from Scout. They are very sweet together."

We love hearing happy ever after stories like this. Please feel free to share photos of your gorgeous cats in their forever homes 🏠❤

💜This week's Cat of The Week is the gorgeous Crunchie, a 2-year-old, black and white domestic shorthair female.💜

Crunchie found the Centre environment a bit scary but is a sweet and friendly cat who likes being around people once she gets to know you. Crunchie spent a short while as Wales Cat Centre's sponsor cat, and we are delighted she has been adopted and gone home with her new family. 🏠

💜 UNDERSTANDING OWNER WITH LOTS OF TLC TO GIVE, NEEDED 💜

Meet the lovely Molly who is now one of our longest staying cats. She arrived to the centre on 23/03/25 after her owner passed away. She is sadly being overlooked due to her shy nature and has struggled adjusting to life at the centre. We were told that she has always been shy, and is an independent girl who likes to have fusses but equally enjoy her own space too. She has lived with a calm, quiet dog before and could do so again, as long as they let her have her own space. Molly would prefer to be the only cat at home. As she is mainly white she will need suncream on her ears and nose when going outdoors to prevent them from becoming sundamaged. She needs an understanding and loving owner who can work to bring out her confidence and give her the time needed to settle. She is a sweet little soul and we cannot wait to find her forever home. Could it be with you?

We are open to the public every day, excluding Tuesdays, between 11am - 2.45pm if you would like to come down and meet her, or please find more about her at: www.cats.org.uk/bridgend -45742

Please share this post to help us find Molly a forever home. Thank you.

❤ PERFECT PAIRING ❤

Meet the gorgeous Kesi (black female) who was adopted in June 2024. After she had settled in to her new home, her adopters came back to the centre in hopes of finding another cat to keep her company. They then adopted Immie in August 2024 and they have been the best of friends ever since!

When introducing pets to each other, we recommend taking things slowly and scent swapping daily with a blanket / towel, for them to familiarise themselves with the other pets scent. After a week you can start to introduce them through a small gap in a door, or behind a visual barrier, as pictured with Kesi and Immie. This may take several days, before both pets seem comfortable and calm and it is important not to rush this process.

If you would like to adopt, but are unsure on how to introduce a new member to your household, please call down to the centre for some advice and we will be more than happy to go through the adoption process / settling in advice with you.

Our opening hours are: Every weekday and weekend, excluding Tuesdays, between 11am - 2.45pm, or alternatively please email: [email protected]
