💚 Flora is waiting to show you why black cats are so special 💚

🐈‍⬛ Did you know that black cats are often overlooked, and spend more time at a rescue centre than any other coloured cat? 😔 Despite being just as loving, playful and affectionate, outdated myths and simple colour preferences can mean they take longer to find their forever homes. Here are why we think black cats are super special :

✨ They have stunning, sleek coats that look elegant all year round
✨ Their expressive eyes really stand out against their dark fur
✨ They have wonderfully unique personalities
✨ Black cats can develop subtle chocolate, rust or stripey tones in sunlight
✨ Their coats can make shedding less noticeable on dark clothing and furnishings
✨ And most importantly, they offer the same companionship, comfort, and unconditional love as any other cat ❤

The gorgeous Flora is one of our longest staying residents, and has been with us since 19/03/26. She is a 7 year old, black domestic short haired female. She arrived at the centre as she was very afraid of living with a dog. Flora used to love to spend time out in the garden, but as the dog used to chase her, she sadly spent her time confined upstairs and was too nervous to come down. We were told that Flora is very much a lapcat, and used to love to sleep in bed with you at night and have cuddles ❤ She is very friendly and affectionate, and loves to play! She is looking for a new home where she can be stress free, and live as an only pet, with a garden she will once again be able to explore, after a settling in period 🌳🏠 She can also be homed with older children.

Flora is the sweetest girl, and we would love nothing more than for her to find her forever home soon. She will make a wonderful, loving companion for that special someone. Could it be you? 🤞

💖 Bonded Sisters Looking For Their Forever Home - Please Share 💖

Aren’t they just the cutest?! 🥺 These two beautiful sisters, are called Angelica (light tortoiseshell) and Lady (dark tortoiseshell). They are both 2yr 7 month old females, who arrived at the centre when the child at home sadly developed allergies to their fur. They can be homed with other cats and older children.

As you can see, these two sisters are always together and spend their days lovingly grooming each other and having lots of cuddles together 💕

They are incredibly bonded, and are both very friendly and affectionate. Can their forever home be with you? 🤞🏻

❤️ After Raising Six Kittens, It’s Finally Coco’s Turn to Relax ❤

Coco is a beautiful 2 year old, maine c**n cross female, who arrived at the centre with her six young kittens after her previous owner sadly could no longer care for them. We were told that Coco had always been an independent girl who enjoyed affection on her own terms, and she found busy family life with young children quite overwhelming. She also prefers not to share her space with other cats, so once her kittens were old enough to fly the nest, it was a day to celebrate and finally find a home of her own ❤

Thankfully, the perfect match came along with her new owner Serban where Coco can enjoy life as the centre of attention and the only pet in the home. We’ve loved receiving this wonderful update from them:

"Coco settled in to her new home quite quickly. She is eating well and has now explored the entire house. Her favourite place to be, is wherever one of us is! She is affectionate, talkative and loves to play with her toys! Her grey mouse is her favourite, and she keeps gifting it to us. We absolutely adore her 🥰 She enjoys sitting on laptops and testing out every bed in the house”

We are delighted that she has found the loving, understanding home she truly deserves, and we wish Coco and her new family many happy years together ❤️

This weeks' Cat of the Week is the beautiful Lemon, a 4-month-old white and tortoiseshell, domestic shorthair female. Lemon came into our care with her siblings when her owner was unfortunately no longer able to care for them. As a result of this sudden change, Lemon has found her new environment a bit overwhelming. She is really sweet once she receives gentle fusses and will roll over and purr like a motor. Lemon will benefit from gentle, ongoing socialisation, including support in becoming comfortable with handling and grooming in a quiet home environment where she can feel safe and secure. We are so pleased that Lemon has been reserved and will soon be going to her new home where she can explore, have a slow introduction to a safe outside space and blossom into the lovely cat she deserves to be.
