Some vintage MOTHER tee pics! Circa 2014 🙌🏻 So we’re selling all stock at our online store over the next few weeks... including the classic MOTHER design. I created this tee in 2014 to show solidarity for mothers around the world who were raising children in harder circumstances than me; this one design raised over £250K for women in war-torn countries. It's still my favourite slogan... because it means so much. It genuinely warms my heart that it has helped so many women... both in a fundraising sense, and in a solidarity sense, too. Women have told me how comforting it feels to wear the MOTHER top & know that we're all in this together. However hard parenting can feel... we are not alone 🙌🏻 We’ve a few styles left in this design, most of which won’t be coming back... so have a peek if you want to get in before they go... there is free uk postage currently with code ‘EverythingMustGo’ 💯 & ...... thanks so much for all the ❤️ over the last 6 years! Before Instagram. Before Selfish Mother. A career highlight in my previous incarnation as a fashion journalist. Designing 2 ‘shopping page’ walls in which I dressed like my ES Shopper pages in magazine. As a writer who also loves art & hands-on creativity, bringing pages to life in 3D was such a fun thing to do. I have this Polaroid on my wall & it makes me smile when I look at it.... If you want a little confidence booster I totally recommend popping previous life-moments or things you are proud of on the wall, too... because life isn’t just about the now. What we’ve done before is part of our tapestry & is worth celebrating (even if today is about school runs instead of killing it at the cool job you used to have!) 💯😍 PPS. Thanks for this opp Steph! Birth trauma is definitely a thing - rarely talked about but affecting so many of us (it took me 5 years to summon up the courage to write about the birth of my firstborn!). Each situation is different & many of us carry our birth experiences in our heads - but what about when the trauma is physical, too? Here ‘Eloise’ shares her story, in a wonderful relatable style.... You know when you just know you need a break? Well, I realised I haven’t had one - a proper one - since 2003 when Tom & I went to Ibiza for the whole summer. I didn’t take maternity leave with each of my 3 children. I couldn’t with the 1st, with the 2nd I felt a primal urge to provide by starting a blog (Selfish Mother) & by child 3 was born I had a booming clothing business, massive shop space & a team of 12. 😂 Over the last year I’ve been quietly downsizing our operation & now I’ve decided to go further by pausing the online store over this Summer (our quiet months) & by opening a new small IRL shop at our HQ in Bruton... because me & our now team of 3, all miss meeting YOU our customers (& friends!). We’ll still take orders over the phone, & will be able to sell preloved items, too. We are so excited! 🥰 A summer sabbatical for our online store also means that me & my family might get to have a long summer holiday.... ☀️ But I’ll still be here, btw, am not taking an IG sabbatical... I love it too much 💯 PS. If you have had your eye on something at our online store, now is the time to grab it as stock will not be replenished & it may not come back.

Spring hues lift the spirits on a grey day - don't you think? ☀️ Wearing uplifting colours is just one of my antidotes to S.A.D...! Also playing great music, a bit of bronzer, blue-sky thinking, holiday planning, events in the diary & hanging out with fun / funny people.
