The incidences of 'missed' / 'stray' poo in the fields are creeping up again - particularly in the Half Past Field - and EVERYONE who visits is responsible for picking up after their dog.

Even if you don't actually spot your dog doing a poo, you should assume that if it comes here, it has. If you can't see it, but spot a different one, please pick it up as a replacement.

It is appreciated that poos can be missed / are hard to locate once done / dogs run off quickly before you've got 'eyes on' and so on, but if you can't find your own dog's poo, please try to at least pick another up in its place if you see one.

Stepping in pooh is really disappointing and disgusting as well as being a health and safety hazard. Some dogs also eat it !

So please help to keep the fields as clean as they can be and IF YOU ARE NOT CLEANING UP, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who has helped over the past couple of months.

Whether filling holes, picking up 'missed' pooh, pulling thistles or tidying up broken bits of balls - all efforts are really appreciated and help us keep the fields in the best shape possible.

Free credit 'awards' are given out approximately 4 - 5 times a year to Members who accumulate a (easily achievable) certain number of Field Care Points.

Whilst we are grateful to ALL participants and would reward everyone if we could, special mention this time period goes to 10 people in particular, who will all be contacted individually and 'win' a free credit(s).

Thank you to everyone who took part in the Easter Field Hunts that were running throughout April. A free credit has been awarded to all correct entrants.

There were lots of correct entries this year and so free credits will be awarded to the first THREE people pulled from the Grand Prize Draw 'hat'.

Congratulations go to Josette H's entry as it was pulled out first - 10 extra credits are on their way. Sue G will receive 5 free visits for coming in second place and Lynne S was third, so gets 2 additional ones also.

It's getting warmer and whilst more daylight hours, sunshine and higher temperatures are very welcome, it is important to have the option of a splash area for doggie visitors to cool off in if they would like to.

The water 'pool' in the Half Past Field has had an upgrade ready for the summer months.

There are also new swing chairs in the fields, so whilst your dog is refreshing its paws, why not take a moment to enjoy the views and have five minutes out from a busy day.

Sandpit 'Top Up'
More sand has been added to the dig pit in The Long Run Field to make it 'Spring ready' for digging paws

Additional Swing Seat
An additional seating option has also been put in The Long Run Field

Easter Weekend
The fields are remaining open each day as phone / email assistance will still be available (although there may be a short delay), so it's especially important that booking dates, times and gate codes are checked BEFORE visiting please.

Easter is just around the corner and two 'hunts' are running throughout April.

Taking part is a great way to save money as ALL correct entrants 'win' a return visit / extra credit. There's also a grand prize draw at the start of May, where a further 10 free credits are given out.

Just count the right number of themed stones that are hidden around the field - it's really easy to play. There are even complimentary sweets to encourage (or bribe!) other family members or companions to help in the search and reward them for their efforts.

Pick up an entry card from the field shelter and Happy hunting !

The incidences of 'missed' / 'stray' poo in the fields are creeping up again and EVERYONE who visits is responsible for picking up after their dog.

More than 10 were found in the space of just 30 minutes in one of the fields today and it's really disappointing and disgusting as well as being a health and safety hazard.

Just a polite reminder to be extra careful so that pocket items aren't accidentally 'dropped' or fall out during walks as this can be a real risk to canine and wildlife health.

Understandably accidents happen, but the use of pocket zips, poppers and other fasteners greatly reduces the number of incidents.

A dog found some ni****ne lozenges today and if it hadn't been for the vigilence of the owner who was able to retrieve the packet from his mouth, the outcome could have been very unfortunate.

Coins, cigarette butts, keys and sharp objects that have fallen out of pockets, have all been found in the grass at one time or another and this recent 'find' is another example of why it is important to use the butt and litter bins that are provided, take extra care and secure items safely away, whilst visiting the field.
