Meet Crookshanks! 🐱🐾
This gorgeous boy came to see us a while back after being involved in a road traffic accident.

He has been through so much! His initial problem was that he had a dislocated hip. But more seriously, we discovered that he had a diaphragmatic hernia which needed to be addressed urgently. Our vet Rob Forrester carried out surgery to correct this, enabling Crookshanks to be able to breath again.

After some recovery time and 10 days later he returned for Nick Whieldon to repair his hip.

It was a long road to recovery but he is now signed off, content and happy !

Meet Harvey! 🐾🐶
This gorgeous boy came in to see us with an issue with his back leg. It turned out he had an embolism (blood clot) and it caused lots of complications for him.

The best treatment plan was for him to have his leg amputated, which our wonderful surgeon Dr Nick Whieldon performed.

The video shows him 2 days after surgery when he came to visit us for a post op check. The picture (in the comments) is him at his 10 day post op check when he was officially signed off.

As you can see, he is a very happy boy after his surgery and has recovered well!

HOT WEATHER ALERT!

With the current amber weather warning for heat beware of heatstroke in your pets.

Especially our brachycephalic friends, such as Bulldogs, Pugs, Mastiffs and Boston Terriers. They have more difficulty panting and regulating their body temperature due to their short affected airways.

Prevent heat stroke by doing the following;

• Walks in the early morning or later evening.
• Ensuring they have somewhere cool to escape to, such as the house or some shade.
• Fans, cold dog mats, cold towels or flannels.

Also watch your small furries such as Rabbits and Guinea Pigs. Ensuring their hutches are kept in the shade.
