People often think that walking 4 dogs altogether must be very chaotic. However, a lot of my walks look like this, all of the dogs are content, having a sniff and doing their own thing. Don't get me wrong some groups are crazier than this 😂

I firmly believe that exploring different areas on each walk helps keep them calmer as they have new things to sniff and investigate ☺️🐾

Practising Max's recall when there are distractions is something I do daily. Puppies learn so much from appropriate play however it's also really important that he knows he still has to listen to me even if he's having fun with his friends.
By saying his name first, he knows it's his turn to come ☺️🐾

Last week I treated the business to a new dog washer, it's been such a wet winter and such a mission to ensure the lovely doggies go home in a reasonable state. It's a great bit of kit so thought I'd share it with you all incase anyone else was in need of one.

The one I went for was a Mac portable pressure washer from b&q. And so far I'm very impressed 😊🐾

It's a great bit of kit for muddy dog walks I've even used it to clean my son's rugby boots.

Before beginning any training sessions I always explain to people that you should ensure your dogs needs are met.
Ensuring they are getting a full filled life will help them be more responsive to training.
So have a think about what breed you have and what activities they really enjoy doing. Terriers normally love digging, labradors love sniffing, think how you can safely incorporate these activities into your dogs life for a happy content dog 🥰🐾

Here's a great example of my 10 year old son practising loose lead walking with our 7 month old puppy. I believe it's so important to get children involved when training dogs. It's a great way for them to build a lovely relationship with the dog, and encourages positive and appropriate interactions.

My 3 tops tips for loose lead walking are:

🐾 In the beginning don't expect your dog/puppy to walk loosely for long periods of time and ensure they've had plenty of time to engage with the environment outside of lead walking practice.

🐾 Be engaging and ensure you have a great bond with your dogs.

🐾 Praise/reward when your dog/puppy is in a position that you are happy with. And remember everyone is different some people are happy with a loose lead, whereas other people prefer their dog/puppy to be buy their side.

A great way to help a puppy/dog calm down and relax is to give them something to lick. There are so many enrichment options that you can choose from but I picked these great little mats up from Aldi yesterday. They are a fab way to encourage a young dog to settle and relax.

The licking lowers cortisol whilst at the same time releasing endorphins. Leading to a happy relaxed dog!!!!!

There's so many topping options and you may even have some in your kitchen at the moment such as:

🐾 Banana
🐾 Peanut butter
🐾 Blueberries
🐾 Bone broth

Another great trick is to freeze them as it'll take your dog even longer to finish!!!!!!

I currently have a very small amount of availability for dog training and behaviour consultations. My style of training is calm and relaxed and I always work with your dog, helping them live a happier and more relaxed life.

All of my training services are tailored to each individual dog and family but here is an overview of what I am currently offering:

🐾 Private 1-2-1 puppy course 🐾
This is a 4 week course where I will come to your house and we will cover things such as settling your puppy into your home, socialisation, sit, stay, walking nicely on the lead, settle on a mat/bed, focus techniques, recall plus much more. This is on a 1-2-1 basis so we can also cover any other topics you would like.

🐾 Private 1-2-1 training 🐾
This is the perfect option for help and support with any training you are currently finding a little tricky.

🐾 Training walks 🐾
This option is great for people who are super busy and finding it difficult to training their dog themselves. I will come and collect your dog and do the training for you. This will then be followed up with a training report for you to follow. We will also do the odd training session together for me to see how you are getting along.

🐾 Behaviour consultations 🐾
This is a specialist service for owners who are experiencing a particular behaviour challenge with their dog.
