Lots of love to you all and your gorgeous pups! ###
⨠Welcome to Honey Hedge Laneā¦
ā¦where life slows down, muddy paws are always welcome, the kettle is always on, and thereās always room for a little magic.
Hello, Iām Alice. š¤ (+ Simba and pumba) š¾
Not so long ago, my life looked VERY different.
For 11 years I worked as a dog groomerāmy dream career. But living with (EDS) and other health complications meant I could no longer safely do the job I loved. Almost overnight, EVERYTHING changed. My health. My future. The life Iād spent years building.
I found myself rebuilding from the absolute ground up in every part of my life.
Then something unexpected happenedā¦
I picked up a paintbrush.
Not because I thought Iād be any good at it, but because I desperately needed something that brought a little light into one of the darkest chapters of my life.
I paint when my body allows me to. Some days I can paint for hours, others my hands, joints or exhaustion simply wonāt let me. But somewhere between the brushstrokes, something changed. Painting quietened my mind, helped me heal and, somehow I find myself again. š„°
Today, I still live with daily pain, but Iām genuinely happier than I can EVER remember being.
Honey Hedge Lane grew from that.
For now, itās simply a place where I can share my paintings, my progress, and the little world Iām slowly creating.
Iāve always been obsessed with the English countryside, wildlife, dogs and whimsical stories that remind us thereās still magic in ordinary life.
I hope Honey Hedge Lane becomes a cosy little escape where robins perch on old garden tools, golden sunlight filters through woodland leaves, muddy paws lead to a crackling fire, and a cup of tea somehow tastes even better after a countryside walk.
Expect cheeky donkeys, mischievous sheep, bossy chickens, dogs convinced theyāre in charge⦠and the occasional painting that looked much better in my head! š
Life is serious enough.
Sometimes we all need reminding to slow down, laugh a little, and notice the beauty weāve been walking past all along.
Thank you for being here at the beginning of my journey.
With love,
Alice š¤ššš¾
