Dora’s journey 😍
Dora was previously jumping successfully abroad, including the 8yo 1.40 finals!! She went lame last year, and due to not being able to find out what was causing this, was turned away for the year!
She was then bought back into work but still wasn’t right! After more tests, they found she had Lymes disease!!!! 😱
The Lymes disease caused Dora to have sore front feet, almost as you’d expect in a laminitis case.
With this, her owner thought the water treadmill could be a great way to try bring her back into work with minimal concussion and load through her feet! Dora’s owner felt this was her last avenue she could try!
She stayed with us for a few weeks and the difference was incredible! We kept her on the sand pens and treadmill to keep her feet comfortable and off any hard ground.
Within 10 days she was bucking and squealing around the sand pens and looked like a different horse! ☺️
At the end of her stay, Rich fitted casts to get shoes on her, without having to nail into her feet, as this has previously made her lame!
Well, fast forward just over 4 months and Dora is back out jumping, in normal shoes, and looking amazing 😍😍
You can see from the before (top & left) compared to the after (bottom & right) how much stronger she is!
