Locust Delivery Delay! Locusts will be in Thursday. all other livefood will be in Wednesday.

Unfortunately one of our livefood suppliers have had their locust colony go down due to circumstances out of their control, meaning the other supplier is now also stretched trying to cover the UK’s locusts supply.

Because of this We can only have half of our usual order due to this so please call in advance before travelling for locusts.

All other bugs will be stocked and on the shelves.

Bristol Reptile Emporium is seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to support the daily running of our reptile store and breeding facility and work closely with the Store Manager to drive the team and develop the business.

Are you experienced in exotic animal care and passionate about delivering exceptional customer service? Do you thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced retail environment and have a knack for leadership, teamwork, and fresh ideas?

You MUST be available to work weekends and bank holidays (rota depending) – this is non-negotiable.

- Position: Deputy Manager
- Location: Willsbridge, Bristol BS30 6EE
- Hours: Full-time 40 hours per week
- Pay: £24,000 - £28,000 a year depending on experience.
- Start Date: ASAP

Your Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Support

- Step up as acting Manager when needed.
- Help lead the team & delegate tasks.
- Create a positive, productive work environment.

Business Development & Ideas

- Roll out new ideas with the Manager.
- Turn team suggestions into improvements.

Animal Welfare & Husbandry

- Oversee daily care of reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates.
- Maintain enclosures & health standards.
- Support breeding projects.

Customer Experience

- Give expert advice in-store, online & by phone.
- Handle complex customer queries.
- Keep the store welcoming and visually appealing.

Operations & Organisation

- Handle stock, deliveries & merchandising.
- Maintain safety, cleanliness & compliance.
- Help manage daily tasks.

What We’re Looking For:

- Ideally level 3 in animal Management but not essential depending on animal / keeper experiences.
- 5 years experience in retail management.
- Experience with reptiles or exotic animals.
- Organised, confident & great at multitasking.
- Positive, proactive, and people-focused.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong IT, numeracy, and till-handling skills.
- Clean driving license.

We have also restocked our frozen rats and mice, so be sure to pop down and grab anything you may need!

Staying cool in the heat? 🥵

This Crested Gecko certainly is! Make sure to check in on your scaly friends during this hot weather, while most reptiles enjoy hotter temperatures, prolonged periods of excessive heat can be dangerous for them. ☀️

Make sure to spray them more frequently and ensure they have fresh water available so they can take a little dip if needs be 🌧🛀

Our delivery arrived nice and early this morning, so our fresh livefoods are on the shelves ready to go! ✅️

‼️ LIVEFOOD DELIVERY UPDATE ‼️

Unfortunately, we have been told today that our fresh livefood delivery will arrive with us tomorrow instead of today 😔

We're sorry for any inconvenience this causes as we had informed a few of our customers that the delivery would be with us this morning.

Until tomorrow we are low on livefoods and are out of stock of Extra large & large locusts, large, standard and small silent crickets, mealworms, waxworms and fruit fly cultures.
We have stock remaining of everything else for now.

Did you know ⁉️

We stock quail eggs in store 🥚, a bitesized treat for monitor lizards, tegus, blue tongue skinks that they go crazy for! They are high in protein & calcium and should be offered in moderation.

They are kept in the fridge for preservation, but pop down and we can get them out for you ✅️
