🌟 Jayapura Blue tailed Monitor 🌟

Look at this stunning chap 🤩 He is getting on amazingly with handling, no biting or huffing, just quite on the go!

He will make an amazing pet for those looking for a step up in monitor lizards, reaching 4ft in length these are a manageable species of monitor. He will still require a large enclosure that provides him with opportunities to climb & bask, as well as a water section that he can get in.

! Rant post 2 !

Following on from our earlier post, we don't feel it's fair to name & shame or show the CCTV images as peoples' circumstances are different, it was mainly just to make people aware that we're always open to rehomes regardless of condition and that they don't need to be dumped outside of our shop or anywhere else, as this puts them at risk.

Just one hour after our post went live, a second chameleon was brought in to us in very similar condition by a customer walking their dog in a local park, who's dog was barking up at the tree it was abandoned in. We're unsure whether the same person has dumped them both but the injuries are very similar and the chameleon brought in today will not move or open his eyes yet.

We've attached pictures so you can see their condition. Hopefully we'll be able to provide an update in future on their improved condition. 🤞

! Rant Post !

Now this is something that never happens but on bank holiday Monday we found a bag dumped outside our door with a poorly panther chameleon inside.
Luckily we were inside the shop working behind closed doors and happened to see the person drop off the animal on the CCTV.

First of all I would like to say that we’ve always taken in people’s animals that need a new home (if we’ve been at full capacity then we can recommend somewhere else) regardless of age or condition, and all you needed to do was to call us and explain that you need a new home for your animal and we won’t judge you regardless of the circumstance.

Secondly that chameleon is only alive now due to us luckily being open on the bank holiday as the temperature was only 4 degrees at the point of drop off and if we were closed that day he would have been outside in a bag for 24 hours, or picked up and potentially binned by someone onsite.

We will continue to look after him for now and post pictures up shortly once he’s settled in.

This little hatchling Leopard Gecko had a funky awakening to the world this morning 😂🦎

We are having these guys hatch out almost daily at the moment and just need growing on before we can offer them for sale. 2025 baby Leos will be available soon! 🥰
